Only advice I'd give is get some t-shirts made so the party stands out.
For the Calgarians it will get you past the "it's just another night in a familiar setting" feeling, and make the out of towners feel included. That will help start the party vibe. Plus while out you'll get a con of attention.
Find a way to make the groom stand out. One buddy we all wore neon orange golf shirts but he also had a neon orange gold visor.
Another we all had our names and hockey number on the back of the shirts, goin had a C, groomsmen had A's.
On mine the t-shirts all read "Have you seen Jonny P?" on them where mine read "I'm Jonny f'n P!"
It's fun, cheap, and helps identify the night as unique and one's own. Memories are cemented due to the visualization of everyone wearing the same thing.
Lots of attention as well.
