You gotta admit sometimes; it's impressive how badly the NHL can screw its fans, yet we come back again and again.

For some reason, on my iPad, it would not let me play the games live. It kept skipping back to a point near the beginning of the game. Seriously disappointed.

Good thing I haven't cancelled my cable yet and gone the streaming route. I was so close to doing it over the weekend after hearing about NHLtv. Luckily I held off and I'm glad I did.

I've got unblock looking into the issue for me anyways. I hope they can figure out the blackout problem. It seems like a lot of their customers are Netflix and hockey watchers from Canada. If they can't get those two services resolved, yikes. I bet they will though.

I only have the single team package, so tonight's the first night with the new app for me. Going to have my laptop nearby as I can't see anyway this was fixed in less than 24 hours. What a clown show

I'm just looking at the new streaming now. I wanted to make sure it would work before the Flames' game tonight. There's already a few things I don't like about the new setup.

I like to start watching the games about 45-60 minutes after puck drop, that way I can skip through commercials/intermission. Unfortunately the new player doesn't have the time on the scroll bar, or a preview when scrolling. So now I have no idea where to slide to go past commercials or intermissions.

Streamed fine on my phone, but Chromecast that same feed and it tells me "The Game Will Begin Shortly". Switch to the Carolina feed and the game is 2 mins in.

Wicked update!

I don't see the radio links on Gamecenter anymore. Is free radio no longer
part of the package?

So far so good after 1. It skipped back a few seconds 3 or 4 times, but no buffering and the picture so far has been very good. Missing the Canadian commercials though

NHL.tv isn't even working for me at the moment. It was trying to load games, but now nothing. I assume I'm in the Flames region, being in Edson, so if I can get Flames games I'm assuming unblock is working tonight.

Is the no commercials thing going to be all feeds now, or just this one?

I'm in now, and the Flames game is working.

Honestly though, what a terrible design for both NHL.com and .tv. Complete bushleague.

I think its league wide .

I tested every game out yesterday and it was the same.

At least they show intermission stuff.

I like it now because you have a watch it live or start from beginning options again.

The start from beginning was there last year then on yhe old rogers app it disappeared until now.

That does have the potential to be a good feature, but can you see the score somewhere before you click on those links? Because if you can't see the score, the start from the beginning option is brilliant.

You can turn off scores in settings.

That option was there before when it was just ran by the NHL. Rogers took it off the app when they took over.

Now it is back.

Intermission is a lot better than the between periods NHL fog.

Not that I love commercials, but this'll be annoying if it's every game.
