Yeah that kind of ribbing comes with it I suppose. I could get a nice camper but then I'd have to live in a campground.

How does it work with the ladies. I wish I had done it in university. I always joked that I would just get a parking pass for the year and buy the van but never did.

I had a hard enough time with roommates I did know, I couldn't imagine doing it with strangers. I'm the type of person that really likes having their space.

SO just a brief update. It's my week to clean. Takes 90 minutes to make it look impressive (clean microwave, oven, counter tops, sink, washroom, floors, etc.). I get home, I find this:
This is after the landlord issues a warning against this type of behavior. Does anyone know if this is a fire hazard? Additionally, this guy leaves it in my cup board. Sorry for my rant, but my patience has really run out.
Nevermind, it probably is now:

http://globalnews.ca/news/2055255/ne...als-announced/
EDMONTON — Concern over recent condo fires led to Edmonton’s fire chief and Alberta Municipal Affairs announcing new measures Monday to fight fires caused by improperly disposed smoking materials.
“Fires caused by the improper disposal of smoking material are completely preventable, and yet are the cause of some of our city’s most dangerous and devastating fires,” said Fire Chief Ken Block.
“As we have seen, the actions of an individual can have a profound and permanent impact on residents, emergency services and our city at large.
In May, a cigarette butt put in a diaper container on a balcony sparked a massive condo fire in Clareview that caused more than $16 million in damage.
“If you are going to smoke, it must be disposed of in a proper receptacle.
“Let’s work harder to keep each other safe.”
Block – along with Jeremy Wagner, acting deputy fire commissioner with Alberta Municipal Affairs – announced they will pursue stricter enforcement of fire code regulations in apartments and condos. Officials will also look at other changes to help prevent similar fires.

Man. What kind of a dumbass do you have to be to live Butts laying around in the kitchen of the place you live in? Jeez, I avoid littering on the streets, never-mind the place I actually live. Sheesh.
Sorry about your situation bud. Your roomies are idiotic.

So what happens when you just walk away from the lease, pack up and get out? Dick move, yes, but drastic times . . .
Back in the day I paid rent with cheques, none of that automatic debiting from my bank account. Maybe things are different now?

This.
I can be a slob at times, and when I was single I would do lots of things that are in those photos, but that sink just drives me bonkers.
edit: As for that cig, it looks like he put it out to smoke it later, which is disgusting even by smoker's standards, but I can see why he might do it. I don't know why he didn't put it back in the pack though.

Propex heater with a thermostat, works the same as a furnace. All combustion is in a closed loop to outside and cabin air circulates by a heat exchanger.
http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/heaters/hs2000
That and I insulated it to the nines lots of spray foam, insulated panels and reflectix. Spent $80.00 last winter on heat. It has a bulk head that totally seals the front from the back so there's no condensation up front. I also put in a smart vent that opens and closes with a thermostat and a rain sensor.
The cabin is comfortable enough between -35 to plus 27. Outside that range, I'd rather be at home. Below -36 the propane lines freeze. Only happened once and it took a day to thaw out in my garage and then all was fine.

That's not good enough. Throw them in the toilet and he'll think he just misplaced it. Start putting them in his bed. I'm 100% serious.
As a former smoker, I struggle to comprehend how putting half butts on the shelf by clean dishes makes sense. I'm having trouble making sense of it. Obviously the ashtray is the proper spot.
But honestly, start putting them in his bed. People want to eat food off plates. That is so incredibly disgusting for someone to put them right by clean dishes. I'm tempted to get your address off of you so I can slap the guy in the mouth. Drastic measures call for drastic action. Start putting them in his bed. He'll wonder why they are showing up there and will probably confront you about it. Tell him everytime you find his half butts ANYWHERE in the house that is not an ashtray will result in you putting them where he sleeps. Hopefully he'll get the hint and at least make a half assed effort to put them where they belong.
God, that is so nasty. I'm pretty tolerant of smokers in general, but it's almost like he's doing it to purposely mess with you.
