Nice to get two points out of this one given the flu situation that seems to have hit this team. I can't imagine hudler and Ramo were the only ones feeling sick tonight.

Eichel should learn how to handle the puck at the NHL level with a normal sized stick before he uses Paul Bunyan's stick.
Quote:
At what point does Eichel realize you can't play with a 9 foot stick?
Quote:
Like... what the **** is Eichel thinking on that last sequence? Plays like that put me at a loss for words. Hockey 101, something 4th liners understand and it completely goes over his head.

Why is eichel right next to kane behind the net lol

Going to get shutout by the -27 Calgary Flames if we don't get a few more powerplays.

Think we could trade for Widemen and get the "we drafted him" discount?

At least they got out of that still 0-0. Eek. That was painful.
Quote:
Look at that. Everyone is just standing around while the other team takes it to them. It's the complete opposite of the beginning of the year when we were outworking and outshooting the other team every night.

Nice missed call there on Backlund

The Flames are quietly sitting at 6th in the NHL in even strength goal scoring, and three of the teams ahead of them have played a game or two more. No team has scored more even strength goals since the day we got TJ Brodie back.

Had to miss the game. What happened with the refs?
Gave Buffalo 2 iffy power plays while ignoring some major infractions the other way including a hit right in the numbers that drew blood and a trip right before a buffalo goal.
Also an icing call that actually hit someone on the bench that ended up costing the Flames.

Monahan spoke specifically about how sick Hiller was and said he was trying so hard. Since they know more about the locker room than we do, I will give Hiller a pass for tonight.

Thought Backlund's line was very effective tonight. They generated a lot of chances and also excelled at falling down all over the ice.
Had no real issues with the defense tonight. All six played a serviceable game.
Johnny Hockey is just unreal. If the Flames can lock him up long term we can look forward to even more special nights like tonight.
Looks like Sean Monahan is back and scoring again. +3 tonight and very dangerous.
Tried to give Hiller a chance but I have no love for him any more. Anything he built up last season is just washed away as he cannot make the big save any more. I would expect to see him back in Europe in the near future.
Crowd felt quiet tonight. I was at the game in Boston and the fans were into it from puck drop. I'm sure it being a Friday night helped but I always hate when the 'Dome turns into a tomb.
Four games in a row! Would love to cap off this home stand with another win!
Solid win! What I found really impressive was the young talent on the ice
-Gaudreau
-Hamilton
-Brodie
-Monahan
-Bennett
-Ristolainen
-Reinhart
-Eichel
I'm sure I'm missing a bunch. These are the future stars of the league. 2 rebuilding teams who (hopefully) are future contenders.
I know Hiller probably wanted that 2nd goal back (3rd was a deflection, not his fault), but I give him props. To come play an NHL game while still feeling the effects of the flu is pretty hardcore. Hirsch seems to have forgotten that part.
That's true and it was cool to see a game full of young blood.
But I really don't care whether or not Buffalo has future success. Can't forget this team who's management gutted the team purposely before the draft selection changes to attain the pieces they have. They're like Edmonton of the east when it comes to pushing for high picks. Actually their recent tank job was probably the most blatant I've ever seen. Don't hold much respect for that.

not too shabby considering the Flames start and it being his second year in the league. Not to mention he is playing on a line with David Jones with all due respect he is not a first liner.
