What is a characteristic of straight guys that you would consider stereotypical, that you like to make fun of? eg. bad fashion sense

Does size matter?
yah the bad fashion sense is one, also not being able to communicate/understand/impress girls. yah there are lots of smooth straight guys, but I mean you see so many guys fumble around with their girls and screw up in public and in private. My best friend got married back in April, I was his best man, and when he was dating his gf he'd call me up and ask me how to set the table for a romantic dinner, what type of flowers to get, clothes, hell I picked out his engagement ring cause he just has no clue I still get called for advice once in a while.

I mean you have to know how to use what you got, but generally the bigger the better, there are exceptions to everything tho.

Have you heard of that new beer for the gay community "Queer Beer?" What are your thoughts?
They just ripped of the SNL sketch for schlitz gay beer. I mean i wouldn't buy it just for that reason, it would have to be lights out beer and not some weak, US style bat urine.

Why do certain men feel the need to wear assless chaps during the parade? I mean, I'm all for the parade, just sans bum-cheeks.

I wonder if they are the same guys I know that would happily walk around in public in a banana hammock if it were socially acceptable. I guess they figure it's "our day" so they can wear what they want, but ya i mean really, keep the assless chaps for the leather bar, no one wants to see your oiled ass.

How can a gay guy find a nice gay guy in Calgary, but I can't find a nice straight one? I mean, the ratio has to be at least 30 or 40-1.... It isn't fair! /whining.

so in reading this thread so far, maybe my Subaru isn't as 'gay' a car as I thought. people keep telling me it is...but apparently volkswagen is still in the lead

ok, gays in sports

two parter (partly based on the primetime sports show a few days ago)

1. do you think it's likely a significant player in a major NA pro sport comes out (of their own free will) in the next 5 years?

2. if so , do you believe (as some have argued) that there would be significant positive marketing benefits for said athlete within the gay (and or straight) media etc

trust me hun, it's harder to find a nice gay guy. Calgary is notoriously closeted and has a rather commitment-fearing culture. I still complain that all the nice guys are straight, I just happened to luck into a gay guy who is the real deal and so i can't complain anymore. Just keep looking, and don't look for a straight guy who is cool like your gay friends, cause you won't find him. :P

Woven shirts, with yellow and or blue vertical stripes over top of a darker screen tshirt, roll up the sleeves, a nice pair of jeans, a belt without a large buckle (even a white one w/o buckle would look good this fall) and black or brown shoes you could even throw a suit coat over all of it and make it work.

I've got one....

I work with a gay guy and he always talks about how Jessica Alba is the one girl that would cause him to temporarily "switch teams".

Which famous actress or other female would give you similar motivation?
mmm Halle Berry or Shakira (god, she can move EVERY part of her body) [/b][/quote]

Pope you bas**rd!! I was foaming at the mouth, anticipating a Halle Berry or Shakira picture, and I am still reeling from the effects.

On second thought, that hair looks pretty soft to the touch...

Nah, subarus are cool, I'd be more worreid that someone would call you a granola-lovin tree hugger...

1. I doubt an active player would come out on his own free will, he'd be outed before he got the chance I think. What would probably have to happen is he comes out in school and makes it to the big leagues cause he has mad skills or else it would be one of those Rosie O'Donnell type things where, really, who didn't know she was a lesbian, cmon...but he'd jsut be like yah I'm gay and the few ppl that didn't pay attn would be shocked.

2. I'm sure there would be alot of marketing benefits, but it's not gonna be Jackie Robinson, I'm sorry to say. Many companies would want to jump on it, other would stay away. He will be scrutinized and I mean would prolly get lots of attn in the gay community, and would probably get unoffical gay spokesman status, sorta like how everyone was "cool" with Scott Thompson of Kids in the Hall back in the day. "Quick, we need a gay guy, call...." It could go really well, it could go really poorly, depends on who it ends up being and his persoanlity, the ppl around him. Way too many variables. Personally, I'd rather have the guys keep to themselves. At Mt Royal last year we had Mark Tewksbury come to a kickoff for a thing called Positive Space, basically it means that mrc has an offical policy now. He's a class guy and seemed to like being the representative of th gay canadian athlete. I'd rather he'd spoken more of his Olympic experiences, being the sports freak I am.

I guess my big thing is I haven't had too many problems in my life because I meet ppl, I treat them well regardless, they get to know me, and it becomes a "oh, you're gay, cool" instead of being like, "Hi, I'm DJ, I'm gay" I figure I'm not hiding it, nor do flaunt it, I figure the best way to be successful for me is to be myself--I do my work(shcool or job), I do it well, I treat people the way I want to be treated, and when they inevitabley find out it's NEVER an issue cause they know who I am and what I'm about and being gay just becomes one minor aspect of who I am. I don't go outta my way to be loud and proud unless i feel i need to put forth my two cents on the subject.

The best was was at work last year...a guy made a gay joke, a really lame, unfunny one (what's the hardest thing about buying rollerblades? Having to tell your folks you are gay.) He was the only one that didn't know I was gay so everyone looked at me whether to laugh or not, and I just looked at him and said "I've never owned rollerblades" That actually got a laugh out of my co-workers.

I hear that the Gay community does not like the lesbian community and vice versa. Any truth to that?

In the news and such we hear about the "gay community". I realize there's no physical community, but does an informal network exist, or a kind of clique?

What dos that mean?

Umpire??

I have a question. What's with the lisp? Where does that come from? My buddy came out, and about a week later developed one. I've never worked up the nerve to ask him....

Are you really that good at fashion picks and faux pas? Are your gay friends? Is it a fact most gay guys are or is it just a stereotype?
