You clearly didn't see the goal Ramo let in. Other than that I agree.

He won 8 out of 9 faceoffs he took.
Edit: Looking at the scoresheet again and He never lost one out of the 3 he took against Giroux. He mainly took defensive zone starts then Hartley used him in the final minutes used him for offensive zone faceoffs.

Backlund was way better. Jooris too. Ramo still gave me grey hairs. Johnny and Bennett were very good. Monahan - I still don't see him as bad as some of you. I thought Hudler was way worse than Monahan.
I liked the defencemen much better in this game.

Huh, I expected Philly to get three goals in overtime.
We'll take it. Maybe the odd bounce can start going our way.

Things were never as bleak as some made out. The Pacific is a battle for best of the worst this year. The Flames can still be at least 3rd best of the worst.

The Flames were pretty bad, thankfully the Flyers were a bit worse. Hopefully this win at least makes them feel a bit better about themselves, especially just giving up one goal.
Both Monahan and Hudler have gone MIA. They need to get going........like, yesterday.

Positives:
TJ Brodie
Johnny Hockey
Sam Bennett
Derek Grant
Mikael Backlund 2 point night.
Mostly a disciplined game. The call on Jooris was a joke.
Russell-Hamilton is looking like a good middle pairing.
Negatives
40.9% corsi. The "complicated" system we were trying for a few games is gone. This team just isn't good enough to play a possession game I guess.
Power Play
Dennis Wideman
Sean Monahan

Woohoo! Greasy win but I'll take it. At this point any win is better than a loss, and not giving up 4+ goals is a treat this season!
Ramo with not a bad game, for Ramo standards anyway.
I'll probably take some flak for this, but I am not on the Monahan-bashing bandwagon. Sure he's off to a slow start this year but I don't think he should be benched. He still has 8 points in 13 games, which puts him 4th overall on the team after Gaudreau, Hudler, and Frolik.

I agree with everything you said, but Monahan's position is so much more important than Hudler's. Monahan needs to drop to 3rd/4th line duties or just watch a game from the press box. He's been going downhill all year.

Ramo's best game by far.

Sorry man, but no. Ramo was a sponge, didn't give up any second chances. Made some very good saves in tight. Good positioning.
Contrary to popular belief, games like we got from Ramo tonight are more what teams like New York and Montreal get out of Lundqvist and Price. It's not always cross-crease double pad stack desperation glove save upside down miracles.
Yes, the one goal he did let in was soft but Brodie lost his stick, **** happens.

He might have to sit or he might have to work through it. I recall he went through a mini-slump last year as well. He found his way out. But maybe this year is different.
It's hard to sit him, though. Who goes to centre? Jooris? Colborne? Grant? I don't think one decent game by Backlund demotes Monahan. Stajan's been ok, but I'm not giving him Monahan's minutes.

Monahan, Hudler, Wideman , Gio ,Hamilton, and Russell as well as the goalies will have to improve their performances dramatically for the flames to make the playoffs.
