Judging by the way this team has played defense, it seems like the have the confidence that their goalies will stop everything.
Some goals and some games are on the goalies. Nights like this - they're on the team.

clearly we can all eat crow. last year sure seems unsustainable, a lot of luck, given that there is little turnover in the roster.

Actually from what I saw ( missed about a 1/3 ) Hamilton was great this game.

Is anyone else worried about Giordano's contract?
Raymond needs to be punted off the team, just send him down.
Otherwise I don't think the team should make any drastic moves. Clearly, this is not their year

Enough with the 4+ goals against. We should have won this game handily. This is a joke.

Why are people panicking? Treliving and Burke brought us Raymond, Engelland, Hiller, Frolik, Shore, Bollig, Hamilton and Setoguchi. I am sure he has an ace up his sleeve to get us out of this mess.

Hilarious at the begining of the season we were all talking about trying to trade one of our goalies, now 13 games in it looks like we need to trade FOR one.

Even with the officiating, the Flames largely controlled the game. They should've been able to win or at least manage a point with that much sustained pressure. But every little spurt the Avs managed ended up in a goal against. Ramo has to be able to save a couple more of those to at least give the team a chance.

Scathing but true. I will contend Frolik and Hamilton are good in my books, and Hiller did what he needed to do last year. Shore isn't getting a fair shake IMO.

Made me angry because Jarome never did anything like that for us during the thin years.

It really is amazing how quickly the wheels fell off tonight. This game was tied and the team was looking like they were on the verge of pulling off a win...and then this debacle happens. WTF happened? How the hell did last year's exciting, hard-working, offensively gifted team turn into the Edmonton Oilers over one lousy summer? Un-f'n-believable.
After tonight I've decided to stop watching for at least the next couple of games, just to give myself a break from the frustration. I just can't watch this train wreck right now. Something really needs to be done about the goaltending, because this can't continue the way it is.

Raymond was the only player who wasn't willing to take punishment. A few players holding the team back. Wideman, Raymond, Bollig to a lesser extent.
Brodie is emerging as a top 10 defenceman in the league.

he did.
both seasons where we got a young big name dman, the flames have been pegged as "top X defence in the league" and then the season starts and the team absolutely blows. happened the year we got jbo, and here we are after 'dougie'

The whole team needs to be drilled every day, every practice, on the basics of defence. The forwards, d-men, all of them. Because right now, they are not getting it done it their own zone. Yes, the goaltending is bad, but the skaters are severely hamstringing the goalies and not giving them much chance. All aspects of the defending, from the individual plays to the team play is just garbage. The PK needs massive work as well.
I'm getting sick of watching the same players float around and do nothing though, getting beyond a joke. Raymond, Bollig, Stajan, Backlund. These guys aren't doing anything useful at either end of the ice and are severely limiting any chance we have of winning games. Hard for Hartley when he only has 2 useful forward lines to roll with. He needs to shake it up. Make statement like sitting Backlund for Granlund against the Flyers or getting both Raymond and Bollig far far away from the team. Need some rookies in that bottom 6 to give us a boost Jooris and Granlund did last season. Get some of the forward plyons out of the team for a bit, maybe that will snap them out of their poor play?
