Not me. You can't run the goaltender. If you watch he actually puts the shoulder into him on purpose.

Monahan hasn't looked like the player he was last year...doesn't even look like the player he was in his rookie season. Zero confidence from him right now.

I've only seen one guy call him out, but I agree that Hudler has been fine this year.

There was definitely some good things. The problem is that Ottawa is a garbage team right now, so we basically looked good against a garbage team and then lost.
We're more garbage-er

That's been a call in the NHL for decades. He went towards the net without even attempting to stop and at a unsafe speed. Call every time.

not even close - a small nudge
if what Frolik did deserves a penalty, each team would get 20 penalties a game

Goaltending hasn't made the big save and structure in the defensive zone is abysmal.
Looked better overall though so build on the positives and move forward

If either team had played anybody else in the NHL tonight they would not have gotten a point.
Bennett was great.

It's weird how bad both Hiller and Rämö have been. Both were fine as recently as the pre-season, and while neither of them are that great, especially Hiller has proven himself to be perfectly capable of winning a game now and then.
Even if the defense has been playing like crap it's still weird.

Im not much of a stats guy, but how big of an uphill climb do we face going 2-7-1 in our first 10? If American thanksgiving is a good indicator of teams that make the playoffs, we would need to be at least .500 in 2-3 weeks right? Is this even realistic?

I miss having even average goaltending. Hoping Ortio gets a streak of starts here to see if he can get going. Not because Hiller is injured, because Hiller looked like garbage until Ortio came in. Positives: Brodie looked calm, cool and collected and Gio looked better with him as a partner. Bennett might be breaking out when we need it desperately. Colborne had another good game, great puck possession. Hamilton looked better. Gaudreau is Gaudreau. Negatives: Goaltending. Wideman-Russell was an absolute trainwreck tonight, Russell more than Wideman. Bollig brings almost nothing besides dumb penalties. Time to sit Bollig for a bit and let Granlund have his spot.

The reffing was really questionable all game.
How does the most obvious slash so far this season not get called? The stick was broken in half in his hands.
Thought the flames were by far the better team today, but we made a few poor defensive plays, and got some unreliable goaltending.
The thing is, hiller isn't a bad goalie, but he definitely isn't a clutch performer this season.

Can anyone explain why Hartley doesn't give Bennett a shift in overtime after the way he played tonight?
If we're going to have a goalie play deep in his net and hope the puck hits him, we may as well call up Gillies. He takes up more space than Hiller.
Seriously, I hope Ortio gets the opportunity to find his game. Splitting practice time and being a scratch for several games and then being thrown in is not the way to build a guy's confidence or get him into a groove. I think he's the guy though.
Hope Hiller is not badly hurt but since Hartley is so stubborn, there may be a silver lining to him being out for a while.

I agree. Never thought either Hiller or Ramo were true #1 goalies but this has been beyond horrid.
I think this is the opening that Ortio needed to see if he can roll with it. If he can't, does anybody think the flames might consider trading for a goalie?

We're 6 points out right now. I think at 10 points we're in trouble, at least this early.

Bollig.... momentum was lost once he took that penalty.
Colborne...played a good game but seeing him miss 2 open nets in 2 games is tough. Just tough luck.
Hiller... I did not think he played bad or good. The first goal was a complete snipe, the 4th goal was a seeing eye shot in a clustered crease. The Ryan goal is saved by most goalies but Hiller has always been slow post to post. The Turris goal should have been saved - the puck was 3 feet in front of you on the ice with no option but to shoot it.
Teams that make the playoffs get that 1 or 2 saves each game that keep them alive. We have not seen this from any goalie all year. The ones that should go in go in, the easy stops are stopped and anything in-between is a coin flip.
