Sample sizes and all that, but interesting nonetheless.

Hahaha no it isn't, we're a week in. Even the "top CF% teams" might not actually be good at puck possession, you can't tell after a couple of games. Hockeyanalysis hasn't even bothered to start posting cumulative stats for this season yet. Quality of competition, for one thing - some teams have played good opponents, others not so much, many have played the same team twice. Check back in December.

Agree with this, he's not a young guy anymore. If they don't play their backup ~30 games, Miller will definitely fade. So they'd better hope Markstrom has finally figured out how the NHL works... Gee, you know who might be handy to have around in this situation? Eddie Lack.

He was a flawed goalie to begin with and now he has a more complete style

By December we can get a good look at trends and strengths of teams by just looking at the standings.

Yes, you can look at the standings... and then determine, just like every year, what teams are more or less likely to continue on their pace at that time, and what teams are more or less likely to do better or worse for the balance of the year. Or you can just ignore certain information. Just like every year.

Orrrrrrrr....
He's off to a hot start, which is actually fairly typical for him.

Amazing stats his whole career, gets older and starts declining. Second straight year with hot start and after 2 games it's now because he's no longer a flawed Goalie (perfect Goalie?)

Miller was 10-1 after 11 starts last season.

The problem with that is the same problem you'll see with Sid, Gino and Kessel this year. There's only one puck to carry and dish. You need complementary players to put the puck in. Thornton had his Cheechoo, Sid had Kunitz, etc. They each create the offense then dish to linemates of they can't score. Who carries the puck on that line?
