While there might have been a communications failure here, if Pillar can get the ball, it's his. The CF has priority on a fly ball over anyone on the field. the 2b does definitely not call off the CF on behalf of the SS.
Hopefully they just pulled Tulo as a precaution so they can take a look at him and he'll be back this afternoon.

Hopefully if Tulo doesn't come back it is as a precaution. Pillar should let up when he saw that Tulo didn't hear him calling for it (it was Pillar's ball to play).

That is the centre fielders ball all day long and Pillar called for it. He is coming in to the ball while Tulo and Goins are back peddling to it. It's an unfortunate mistake which hopefully doesn't come back to bite them in the rear if Tulowitski is out long term... :/
