Unloading Raymond or Stajan would be tough to pull off. Got to think some waiver pickups are near the same.

I think stajan could get interest even if its only a few mid level picks. That depends a lot of if a guy like arnold or shore could take his spot. I think the same could happen with jones if poirier steps up.

I don't see it. If packaged with a Granlund or someone similar, together, Stajan and a centre prospect could fetch a very nice price (even more so if you salary retain), and you might be able to toss in Raymond as a give away (salary retained) to up the price. They could be advertised as great pieces for a rebuild (plugs) or for depth and are proven pieces, not waiver fodder or unproven prospects waiting to make a jump. Essentially, they are pieces about to be buried in depth.

Essentially, you could say it's a known value and you could trade it for some unknowns like prospects not meeting development curves/prospects that have a longer development curve that the owning team cannot wait for. Or picks. I weirdly believe that Toronto or Arizona might be a good candidate for a trade like this, but if you ask my reason, it's nothing more than pure guessing. If not them, a random team needing depth at the TDL could be another possibility.

At least one of Rämö or Hiller will be gone after this season. Possibly sooner, possibly eventually both. That's $8.3M in cap space that will not all be put back into goaltending.

975k huh? Jooris should buy Gaudreau a new truck and seat pillow with the extra 200k he got because of him.

Couldn't believe how much Mark Steven and Jock Wilson were complaining about this and Byron's contract on 770 tonight. They spent an entire half hour mocking the Flames for thinking the team had more cap space than it actually did.

Stevens kept going on about how overpaid Frolik was at $5.5 million.

Problem was that Steven failed to mention how that was his salary for next season and his cap hit was more than a million less.

Just brutal programming.

I hope they sign Ferland for 3 years at around $1.1m AAV. That would be the best value contract in the league by 2016/17 IMO
