I believe in the Pony Power

Love how he seems disappointed in himself in terms of not getting more picks.
"Lots of effort, but no finish on my part".
You did OK this weekend Brad.

10/10, A+ ..... I still can't believe he pulled off that Hamilton trade, and I can't believe we still walked out the door with Kylington.... if we walked out with only Hamilton and Kylington and nothing else, I still wouldn't believe it.
Holy crap... how the hell did he pull this off?

One really good defender and two strong prospects without giving up anything from the NHL roster. Impressive.

9/10.
Would be 10/10, but I don't agree with the ridiculous pronunciation of shillington.

I'd say A, but I agree with Treliving that it would have been nice to find a way back into the first round. So I have to knock off a point and give him an A–. Who am I to argue with the boss?

I said A-.
We made out really well. All the players we selected sound intriguing. Obviously some have the "project" qualifier, but there is a lot of potential upside on a few of them. Without a 1st round, I like the "swing for the fences" approach. Do that often enough and you will eventually hit a homerun.
The Hamilton acquisition was awesome of course.
Perfection would have been if we still managed to draft in the 1st. Not that perfection is a realistic expectation.
At any rate, I am happy with the way the draft went. At the very worst, we got a guaranteed star defenseman.

You can swing for the fences when you have some measure of depth.

Yup. I'm no draft expert, but in all my years of following the Flames this has easily been the most impressive draft I've seen the team do. Filling in some major holes with minimal loss.
I'm on board the Burke/Treliving train 100%

Still feeling very euphoric right now after how the least two days events have unfolded.
It's as close to a perfect scenario for everyone. For the Hamilton dreamers, they got what they wanted. For the ones who would've been pumped to grab Kylington @15... they got what they wanted. For the ones who wanted RH D men in the 2nd round.....nailed it.
It's just all so good.
Treliving went out and swung for the fences this weekend and came up with back to back to back jacks. BANG!

I was extremely excited for next year even before this monumental draft success.
I don't even know how to describe how pumped I am because of how well the Flames did. It'll be so sweet to read Oiler excuses next year again.

I keep feeling like the Flames absolutely smashed 3 home runs for the future of our D core this weekend with Hamilton, Andersson and Kylington.

Absolutely. I love the idea of how they made sure to inject the defensive depth with current and potential high end talent. This is a team with a clear philosophy of relying heavily from the back end and they're continuing to execute based on that direction. No problem from with the lack of a RWer as I'm sure that's more easily addressed through other means.
First stacking center depth, add a few goalie prospects and now the defense being as deep as it is? Perfect way to go about preparing this team for long term success.

A lot of hope that this can jump up to a A- in the future, but all drafts bring great expectations, only time will tell if the kids can continue to develop. As it can raise to a A- it can just as easily fall to a C+ because grading a draft needs a window a lot more than a 24 hour period

I'm reserving my grade until Hamiltons's contract is announced.
