Did he specifically mention those three by names or was that an assumption? Is it possible that he considered Gilles to be a ways away from making the Flames so therefore Ortio, Ramo and Hiller are our three current goalies?

My issue is Smid and Engellend are pretty bad together I think we would be better served to have a mobile guy on the bottom pair

That's great news about Smid career wise. As Vinny said though, I really don't want to see a Smid/Engelland pairing ever again.

Agreed. Good for Smid but he's not a fit. Engelland can be good with a more mobile partner. Hope they keep Schlemko.

That was my impression as well that the 3 goalies as of right now were Ortio Hiller and Ramo

he said he talked with Ramo's agent but understood he was going to free agency as he had earned it etc but to keep in touch as per my understanding

Well what he said is...and I'm paraphrasing. Someone asked him about goaltending and he said "we have 3 goalies currently under contract." Although, I guess technically Ramo is still under contract.

When he spoke to us, he referenced Ramo/Hiller/Ortio as the three under contract.
