There are a few leagues in the city:

Calgary Sport and Social: plays a coed game with plastic type sticks. Usually play one set day a week in gyms around town. Can sign up as a single and get placed with a team.

GHL: Plays a mix of 5 v 5, 4 v 4 and offers mens, women and coed. Also plays in gyms around town but does have refs. Good place to start, but not sure about individual teams. Can look them up on Facebook and say you are looking to play.

Finally, Superleagues is 5 v 5 and plays at visions sports centre for 2 seasons and then normal hockey arenas in spring/summer. Much more competitive but they do have 7 divs. Schedules are different times for the week, 2 refs/scorekeeper and full stats. Full gear (helmet, gloves, etc)

The games have been quite iffy as a result of the near nightly thunderstorms. Definitely would be up for a game or two.
