Wolf needs to do his best Ferland impression.
Could be exactly what we need.

The big difference is the skating. Ferland is a great skater, whereas Wolf is quite bad. Wolf does have the insanity going for him though.

I've never been a huge fan of Wolf. I'm not sure I see what most of you see in him. With that said, maybe a slow, punishing player is what you need against a team like Anaheim. Still... the idea of him getting caught out there on an icing and having to play against Getzlaff or Perry kind of scares me. I would much rather have Shore in there as he can actually play hockey.

Ryan Lambert has got a few gems

What are you expecting to see from Calgary in this series?
Lambert: Four losses.

Lets say they win. Jump ahead to that unlikelihood and explain why it happened.
Lambert: PDO.

Okay, now lets say they lose. Whyd that happen?
Lambert: Theyre bad.

On March 6, 2015 - Piling on Gio's injury
Quote:
Without Giordano, their Norris candidate who should have gotten legitimate Hart consideration as well, the Flames' playoff hopes are essentially nonexistent.
And the problem for the Flames is that either of these guys going down with an injury leads to a lot of problems in putting together a reasonable lineup. Calgary went out and grabbed David Schlemko on waivers to create something even remotely resembling an NHL-level D corps in Giordano's long absence, but even then, they continue to pair Brodie with a possession black hole in the guise of Deryk Engelland. Engelland is bad, maybe Calgary's worst defenseman, and giving him first-pairing minutes with Brodie is an exercise in seeing just how good a great player can be when so burdened

Anyone who thinks this team is truly capable of anything beyond a first-round flameout is deluding themselves; a best-of-seven series against a top team in the West would end in a bloodbath.

September 20, 2013 - Bitterness to naming Giordano capitain

@twolinepass
the flames naming giordano captain is poor asset management. shoulda traded him

The Flames keep on defying what Lambert says about them and he keeps waiting for them to fail. It's awesome!

Wolf skating look awkward but he can get some speed going. He is similar is styles to Ferland so having two of them out there throwing hits with reckless abandon would be sweet.

I disagree.
I think Ferland is miles ahead of Wolf in every aspect of the game, especially skating and shooting. But I'm no expert so I'll leave it to the coaching staff to make those decisions.

It'll be important to play physical this series, but not as much as the Vancouver series. You just knew that if we came out hitting, the Canucks would fold like a cheap tent.
With Anaheim, we're really going to have to play to their weakness and use team speed to beat them. If we focus on the physicality, I expect that the Ducks will simply respond in kind.
Luckily, the Flames are in fact a speedy team, which Anaheim will hopefully struggle with. I give the Flames a 1/3 chance of winning this series.

I think Wolf will suprose a lot of people once he is in regularly. One of the highest scoring players in Adirondack with 20g 18a with 168 pims in 59 games. Ferland had 7g 8a in 32 games with 30 pims. Pretty close offensive numbers and pretty comparable players imo. Wolf finished 4th in scoring. They both are going to be rock solid for this team going forward. We will be able to run 2-3 lines with a hard hitting winger on each when Hunter Smith makes the jump. Opposing defensemen are going to have a rough time.
