Except Utica is in the playoffs (they play tomorrow). If he is around just in case then it would imply someone is not 100% and may be a game time decision.

I for one hope they dress him.
Agree that he is a skill player, but at his current development stage he needs way too much space to pull off that skill. That's not going to cut it in this series. And frankly, I don't think the Canucks can be too disappointed in their 4 forward lines (defense more suspect imo)... I can't name a player in that 16 that I would sit for Baertschi right now.

no way he plays.
Physical play is exactly what has caused him to fail to make it at the next level. It would be weird for the canucks coaching staff to bring him into what has been a very physical series knowing that gap in his game.

Won't be at the game tonight, but someone ought to make a sign:
Scorchy > Baertschi

I actually think he has a good game if he can keep his head straight. You just know he will score tonight too, returning Flames always tend to bite us in the ass.
The energy and excitement of playing his old team will drive him to play better, and with a chip on his shoulder.
Just need to make sure we play him physical. Tim Harrison was able to get under his skin in a prospect camp, need to do the same here and get him to do something stupid (recall ensuing Cross check to face of Harrison).

With Baertschi though, calling him up and not playing him will probably have him depressed.

Horvat was hurt in Game 3. Hope he's out as he's been one of Vancouver's best forwards.

From that one hit he tried to throw? It looked like a knee, so I would assume a sprain?

he came back to play though.
Horvat has been pretty good this playoff, have been really impressed. I'd argue he's been one of the nuck's best and most consistent players. Only negative i can think of is him getting worked by colborne behind the net and along the boards leading up to the GWG in game 1.
would be a big loss if he can't play.

Good Job CTV Vancouver... keep up the great research:

Canucks call up Sven Baertschi ahead of Game 4 in Calgary. The Swede played for both Canucks & Flames this season.

LOL if Horvat is out and Sven is in. One of these things is not like the other.

Is Utica's season done?
Personally I think Linden Vey be a better option if you wanted to make a lineup change?

Perhaps Sweden has been making moves on Switzerlands northern borders while we werent looking?
Gotta watch out for those shifty Swedes...

Had an idea!
|
I would imagine there is a reason for the callup with how good Utica is playing and the fact that if he didn't need to play this game he could easily be in Vancouver in time for game 5.

Yup, warmongering Swedes just can't go longer than 200 years without getting into something!

if Baertchi plays, they'll probably need *another* injury call-up shortly.
