Spoiler!

Reading fan theories has been a ton of fun, one guy put together an 80 page novel on backstory of the game.
i just looked through the boss list... i got a lot of killin to do!

i look forward to all the surprises that people have mentioned... but i am glad that BB has been so universally praised and that so many people have bought the game despite the concerns about its difficulty.

So when is the best time to get to the Chalice dungeons. I've just beat Rom and haven't touch them yet. Is there a lot of stuff and enemies in those dungeons that you'll never get outside the dungeons.

There's materials (and runes?) you won't get otherwise, and different versions of weapons that slot different types of runes from each other. I think some other stuff as well.

If you are at that point in the game, the first Chalice Dungeon will be ridiculously easy for you most likely. But eventually you will end up fighting bosses that aren't in the main story and are much, MUCH more difficult as well.

Also worth noting that the chalice dungeons do not scale with New Game +. So if you beat the game, you can continue on through them

I FINALLY beat M.L.!!!!

Before beating him was the first time in this game that I had to go back and farm for Blood Vials & Bullets, which is pretty annoying. You run through your stores pretty quickly when you lose a boss fight 4 or 5 times in a row.

Now I'm stuck on another (optional I think) boss and am having a tough time with her as well as the only new area I have to go to. I was making continuous progress for the first 30+ hours and then everything suddenly came to a screeching halt. It has dampened my enthusiasm for the game a bit but I know I'm so close to the end that I'll just have to power through it.

I found the boss fights got easier the later I got into the game as I got pretty powerful because I have done all the optional battles and tried to find everything. I even have my insight at 95 now just to make the game as hard as possible. Only issue I had with the game is that Frenzy is way too heavy handed as even building your resistance does little as once your meter fills you lose 80% of your max health.

^ Absolutely agree about the Frenzy there. There are a few things like that which really give me the feel that the game is sort of unfinished... or at least not as complete as they would have liked it to have been.

Yes, there are different armours but they don't actually make a huge difference one way or the other. And there are significantly less weapons in this game than previous games. They are all (mostly) good and viable options, but I can't still can't shake the feel that there should be more.

I am actually very excited for the what seems to be inevitable expansion/DLC. I'm hoping it will be a little more full featured than what they did for Dark Souls & Dark Souls 2, though that stuff was very good in it's own right.

I'm not a big guide guy so I don't even know who the end boss is but I assume I haven't finished the game as I just killed the big brain and there's no ending or anything. I've pretty well killed everything in my path so far so I imagine I'm missing something or very close.

^ Heh, did you finish the game yet? - I have no idea how you found that brain thing... I went looking at guides to check out what I missed and I definitely missed that boss.

I fought the last boss twice and those two fights completely destroyed any urge I had to continue. I got manhandled twice. As in, maybe didn't even manage to do 10% damage to him either time.

If you made it all the way to the last boss...you can def beat him. He is like a pumped up Father G fight, but without the crazy enrage.

Yeah, I actually beat it on my first try when I went back to him. I unequipped my cannon and went back to the starter pistol which helped A LOT. The stagger + visceral attacks were extremely useful in that fight.

I finished in just under 39 hours. I will probably go back and start a new character once I've taken a breather from it to see some of the stuff I missed, and beat the only boss I found that I couldn't (Ebrietas)

Such a good game. Although I've postponed my quest in favour of the Witcher 3 at the moment. I have a hard time playing multiple games.

I am a pretty decent gamer and man... that 2nd boss in the graveyard is tough! I put it away to finally play Skyrim though.

I've been mulling this game for a while now, especially with it sitting at 28 bucks for another couple days. I haven't played any of the Souls games and the main issue is that the idea of playing this game somewhat horrifies me. Hard game+scary=put away forever?

The critical acclaim keeps me intrigued though.

As a fellow chicken (cannot stand horror/thriller movies at all), it's definitely a worthwhile game to play. There are lots of jumps and little scares but it's enough that you enjoy these bits and the rest of the game as a whole is enjoyable.

I have it but have yet to delve in too much. In fact I had a hard time getting through the first few guys!

Fine, I bought it. This is all going to be your fault.
