His numbers against the Canucks are perhaps the most telling- he should be motivated against them. And he hasn't come through in those games.

Wasn't he supposed to be a decent defensive guy when he was with them?

With Shore slotting into the top line, that's a good indication that Monahan was only a maintenance day, and no danger of him not playing.

I could just see Bennett getting his first NHL goal against the Canucks in game 1. Love the idea of putting him in. The flames have a few options at forward and if game 1 doesn't go well they can swap out a few guys and change the look of the bottom 6 quite a bit.

Yup. While we're posting in here, Oilers fans are thinking about draft picks. Ahahahahahahaha.

Hockey gods willing... While the oilers lose the draft lottery on Saturday, the flames will have a 2-0 series lead on the Canucks.

How did I miss this thread?

Anyway I'd at least prefer Raymond to Bollig. If you're giving Bennett his spot, fine, but move him to the fourth line, don't scratch him.

Thrilled to see Raymond pushed to the press box, he is easily the worst forward on the walls and doesn't score anywhere near enough to overlook his shortcomings...

Desjardins appears to have swapped all the wingers to their off wing for playoffs. Interesting strategy. Hartley must adjust.

Giordano says his rehab is going well.

Giordano says he has skated this morning.

He hopes the rehab is going better than expected, but still too early to say, lots of meeting with doctors and gaining back strength and hopefully a deep playoff run could mean a return.

Giordano says staff won't let him return before he is 100%.

Just trying to pump up the guys while he is not playing. Goes to the rink to try and get better then hangs out with all the guys for positive reinforcement.

Doesn't talk to the guys between periods, but after games or at practices.

To clarify, Raymond was on the ice but not participating with anything resembling an NHL line during rushes, correct? He wasn't just sitting like Monahan, and Bennett just filling in?

Also, I agree that I would have preferred if Wotherspoon stood out more in the last game, but from what I've seen of him, 'standing out' just isn't his game. Unfortunately, going -3 isn't his game either, but it happened. Didn't prove himself to be more reliable in that game. Spoon vs Potter is the most intriguing lineup decision for me.

There's a beautiful picture nobody other then Aaron Ward predicted at the start of the season. The Flames head coach standing behind the Stanley Cup playoffs backdrop. Beautiful.
