I don;t think it was completely predictable.
But he looked absolutely great in 1st period - better than anyone picked up at the trade deadline by the "contenders" .. so real nice addition for these playoffs.

I agree, but there were two incorrect posters who said "zero chance" and "less than zero chance". That just isn't necessary.

There was some idiot claiming on another thread that his addition would disrupt team chemistry and cause dissention on the team. Laughable.

With Monahan hurt and doing almost nothing out there he may be the next big thing besdies Johnny for us. Maybe need a few shifts on that line and get the other 2 going.

Bennett is the x-factor in this series. His physicality, generating chances, was incredibly noticeable in game 1.

Bennett looks better then Leon Draisitl did all season. How did they pass over this guy. Thank you, Edmonton.

So are the chances better than average that Bennett plays game 2?

Cannot fathom how you take Bennett out of the lineup. Big time spark.

This kid's a Flame now. He'll never see a lick of Adirondack.

I could see the Flames using him in a variety of capacities this playoff and next season, but ultimately he's this team's #1 center.

Draisaitl fails to make any sort of impact on team with only one real NHL center during the least stressful part of the season. Bennett comes into the playoffs on a team with oodles of center depth and looks like he's a 10 year vet

Thank you so much for Bennett Edmonton

Give it a rest. People can have an opinion.
The "told ya so" posts are useless.
This site is about discussion. People can have strong opinions and end up being wrong. So be it. Calling them blow-hards is not necessary.
Worry less about the opinions of others and just enjoy the hockey.

Bennett was friggin amazing. I mean he is unfazed this is the playoffs and he has only 1 NHL game under his belt and that was a watered down roster !

Wow Bennett is like found money out there. Seriously a huge bonus injecting a skilled hard working player like that at this time of the year.

There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing players prove people wrong. We saw it all year with people saying Gaudreau was too small to play in the NHL etc.

Discussion is great. But if you're going to speak in absolutes, discussion can and should acknowledge how that ended up being wrong. Poor choice of words on my part and I removed that term.

Coming through against all odds makes hockey that much more enjoyable.

Bennett looks like he's 100% to be in game two, and that's the most enjoyable part of all!
