What exactly do you use your garage for on a regular basis?

Nothing is wrong with having a party, parties are great. Developing a party garage with a disco ball and smoke machine is being a try hard.

As Sliver's wife, I have to say he is usually right on things like this. Twenty years ago I probably argued against some of his wackier ideas, but I've learned to let him do his thing and I've found I'm pleasantly surprised 99% of the time. If you think he's a caricature, he's not. I feel pretty lucky I get to see each day through the lens of Sliver.

Holy crap, some of you guys are total buzzkills. The guy is throwing a kegger to celebrate spring. That's being a try hard? Is there a cut off age where people are no longer allowed to have fun? I hope the universe kills me the day I decide that having fun equals having a mid life crisis.

Garage parties are great. They keep everyone in the same room instead of what usually happens in a house - where some hang out in the kitchen, some hang out in the living room, and some hang out in the garage. Still fun, and if you've got numbers, then it'll still be epic, but as an adult, who wants 50 extra people at their house that they don't know, just so that the place is full? A garage party with your good friends is a great time. Free beer, talk about old times, and get stupid and create new times. I'm fricken baffled by how many people are crapping on this.

Sliver, nevermind these old whiners. They're just harassing you because it's you. You know that. For your porta potty question, as a guy who has to order them for sites all the time, I can tell you that they come pre-filled with chemicals, so there's no way it's going to stink like piss or crap the first night. Puke on the other hand??

As for furniture, I get your idea of an inflatable couch, but I don't see that standing up to a night of drunkenness with my friends, and it sounds like your friends are similar. Not quite as comfy, but you might be better off with folding chairs, or some kind of folding chair furniture. One of my buddies bought a wicked folding cot for camping. I wonder if camping type places have folding couches?

As for you debbie downers, get the sticks out of your asses.

No kidding, some of you are just lame. And Sliver's garage is awesome, there have been pics on this site of it before. It looks like a wicked spot to have a drunken bash.

Myself, I prefer the wilderness drunken bash, but I can see the allure of a garage bash if I had one as nice as yours.

Port-a-potty in the garage is pretty weird, though. I'd put it just outside the door. If it's in the garage I wouldn't expect it to stay upright all night, and I also wouldn't want to use it for fear of being inside it when the group decides to push it over.

I'm with 4x4 on this. Sounds like fun and I am just a wee bit jealousy I am not invited. I love a good old fashion garage/backyard party, good times.

I also agree in the thinking that the inflatable furniture might not last the night and an alternative should be sought out. I have visions of seeing how high you can launch your buddy sitting on the other end of the couch. I know you can get outdoor couches or wicker furniture with cushions but I have no idea on the cost. Plus storage afterwards may be a hassle.

Porta potti in the garage was just a bad idea from the get go. I find it best that said location for evacuation be as far away as possible from the group. Besides the potential smell they are unsightly and noisy, doors slamming shut all the time. Good idea to put it out back.

And if my neighbor had offered me a hotel for the night the last time they had a party you can bet your sweet patootie that I would have gladly accepted!

Good luck with the shindig.

I agree, garage parties are awesome. Rules be damned! Serve up the hacky sack :-)

One time I puked on my friends lawn though, and I've never been forgiven for it.

These threads are hilarious and predictable. People ignore the original question and just becomes a typical Sliver thread.

Sliver... rather than inflatable furniture... what about a garage filled with hammocks? Some can be stand alone and some can hang from ceiling? I think hammocks are easily stored.

Drunk people + inflatables is probably asking for injuries, or popped inflatables. Just saying.

Another option is buying a bunch of memory foam mattress toppers and setting them up somehow on a flat surface? Temporary bench? Although I can't think of much that would be considered temporary that would be comfortable.

Foldable picnic tables?

Even better.... A billion of these things and you can convert a room in your house to a full time bouncy room when you're not using them in your garage.

http://www.amazon.ca/LUCID-Inch-Fold...oldable+chairs

EDIT: Actually, to arrange them in a way that could make it a big ass super ottoman in an entertainment room (or just padding on the entire floor while watching movies etc.) might be an interesting use for it assuming you get like 2-4 of them.

But seriously. Popped furniture. I'd consider something else.

I'm just unhappy that I wasn't invited... I could have made the digital inflatable outhouse invitations.

Buy some cheap second hand couchs and chairs from the Sally Ann. If someone pukes on it just haul it to the dump.

I once met up with a bunch of buddies in a garage set-up kind of like this. Well, they weren't quite hammocks, but I can link the OP to some places where you can order the stuff that was used.

I can attest, it all cleans up very well.

What about parking Sliver? Where are all your buddies going to park their trucks? I hope you are cool with your neighbors.
