I've watched them more than ever on CI this year just mostly for Luongo, but they are a really young exciting team, with a few quality vets as well which I think is a big factor in their young players improvement

Hope they make the playoffs this year

Shots are 42-34 for the Panthers. Only managed 2 goals. Lost as many goalies to injury as goals. Lost to a Toronto team that was 4-19-2 of late. Toronto's game winner scored on the injured glove side of Montoya. Horrible luck for the Panthers tonight.

Such a strange situation and both fan bases are probably pissed off.

Panthers miss a chance to tie the Bruins in points for the last wildcard spot.

Leafs lose 2 McDavid points.

All off a goal that was scored while Montoya was forced to play while injured.

If the Leafs can injure every teams starting goalie and backup goalie every game, I think we still may have a chance at the playoffs!! Go Leafs Go!

Glad to hear that they aren't just impressing me, but neutral fans as well. Playoffs will go a long way for a young and talented team like this one. Fans will definitely take notice.

And let's face it, losing both your goalies and having to finish with one of the injured goalies going back in? That's a great story – would have been even better if they had won, but you can't have everything. There will probably be some coverage of that in the local media, and every little bit will help to spark interest.

I can't find this article anymore but some guy posted this article back in January or February in this facebook group I joined where any beer leaguers who happen to have their goalie gear during one of the teams practices or watching in the stands can actually suit up and play.

Trying to remember back when we had our string of 8 goalie injuries, I think it was Tyler Moss got injured then JS Giguere was suffering from dehydration, we were going to put either Iginla or Ed Ward (best name ever) in net.

One game, I think Igor Karpenko's gear hadn't come in yet, but I think Nastek's gear came in but he hadn't yet...

After Trefilov pulls his groin stopping a shot from center ice, we go to to Team Canada's amateur team to pick up Freddie... wins his first game 1-0 against Dallas to break like a 9 game losing streak (where we lost every game by giving up 5 goals or more).

I have to imagine that if the Panthers were out of it, or the score was like 4-0 Toronto, Tallas would have gone in. But fighting for the playoffs, good on Montoya and Luongo for trying to battle through.

As far as the Leafs go, they had nearly 11 minutes against an injured Montoya who was barely more useful than a Le Golie, and still managed one goal. That's embarrassing.

And speaking of how bad the Leafs have gotten... only 10,000 and change announced at the arena last night. Nobody from Toronto (or Miami/Sunrise for that matter) bothered to show up to watch.

In the TSN highlight package it said Luongo went to the hospital and when he came back and saw what was happening, got re-dressed and came back in.

Solid effort by both goalies.

I have no idea if this is actually true, but might be a great trivia question if it is:

Roberto Luongo is the only goalie to start and finish a game, allow no goals, and lose in regulation.

Even if it is true, it isn't exactly true.

What I mean is that the loss goes on Montoya's record, not Luongo's, since Montoya gave up the GWG. So while the Panthers lost in regulation, technically Luongo didn't.

I think the Panthers have more fans on here than they do in Florida

Yeah, Montoya gave up the GWG, so it is his loss.
