Since this is the optimistic thread is it okay to ask which of the Flames will take the cup from Bettman? Will it be Russell, Wideman, or Hudler or will Gio strap on the skates and lift it one handed?
I would love to see giordano behind the bench during the playoffs. Think of the Gio chant in the dome when they show him on the jumbotron. Would give me goosebumps.

I think I read that the Cup is 35lbs. He can lift it no problem.
As much as I like Gio and think he's the heart and soul, if we make it to the promised land, it's going to be someone else who takes us to the Cup. I have a feeling Mony would be our best players in the playoffs, but Hudler or Russell should be the guy receiving The Grail.
Brodie would have to up his game even more, Schlemko would have to emerge as a legitimate top 4 guy, Wideman would have to become a scoring machine again, Money would have to hit 30+ and keep it rolling in the playoffs.
Really, it would be the ultimate underdog story. Even moreso than 2004.
If we did it people would be ####ing themselves at the prospect of Giordano rejoining the team next season though. Haha.
Love the team regardless of how well they do, but I think they have the ability to at least make it.
It was our playoff intro since 04, but who knows if they'll go back to that or something new.
Fingers crossed they use that intro when they make it.
I'm thinking it'll probably be something new. Honestly, It's been ten years even though that's awesome. Also, this team is an entirely new generation. Probably a motto centered around "Let's do this for the Captain. Finish what he started" theme.
They HAVE to go back to Navaras and that whole shebang with the strobes. We had the cockiest, most epic playoff intro I've ever witnessed..chill inducing. I really miss the intros along with everything else that came with playoffs in Calgary. The games were top notch entertainment, even beyond the hockey.

12 wins out of 20 games gets us to 94 points. Our schedule has winnable games on it. All it takes is good goaltending like we had the first few games of the season and we are in.
Love this team? Yes I do

Starting to get real excited about the possibilities of the Flames in the post season
With us passing the Jets (we own all the tie breakers on them) and catching up to Vancouver, meanwhile putting a little more space between us and the Kings, Sharks, it's seeming more and more likely.
If we make it, we need to launch a full on CP Jihad to get the Flames to bring back their old playoff intro. I know it's a new team and everything, but you couldn't possibly do it better than they did back then.

Hey, this looks like another reverse Murphy's Law from earlier in the year...
