Being as impartial as possible, if I had to pick the teams that miss the playoffs from the west, they would be EDM, ARI, DAL, COL, SJ, and the Flames. Vancouver and Winnipeg would have to really fall off and I don't see either Minnesota or LA missing. It'll be a dog fight right through March, but the Flames need to string a bunch of wins together pronto.

Winnipeg doesn't really need to fall off IMO.

They're 4 points up and the Flames hold a game in hand and the tiebreaker. I see the Jets as the team Calgary needs to pass in order to make the playoffs.

The way LA/MIN are playing plus the Canucks easy schedule has me convinced they'll make it. The Jets have some significant injuries and a fairly tough schedule to boot. That's why I'm cheering for the Kings all the way tonight.

Canucks are playing 90% of their remaining games against the western conference and only have a .500 win % against the west. There's still hope of them dropping off.

The Jets have Wheeler coming back now and traded their injured star for Myers. The only other significant injury is Matthew Perrault, but they have been playing well through injuries. I don't think the Jets will drop off anytime soon.

It looks to me like a battle between L.A, San Jose, Vancouver and Calgary for the last two pacific spots. The Jets and Minnesota have been too consistent of late and could very well both take wild card spots.

The Jets have a hard schedule from here on out, and haven't been world beaters. There's a very real chance they drop out. About the same as Vancouver in my opinion. Both are unlikely, but can happen

Would love to see Winnipeg in the playoffs, mostly just because of Buff and the atmosphere that building would have.

Just not at the expense of the Flames. How about the Flames edge out the Canucks for 3rd in the Pacific and Winnipeg nabs a wildcard spot? I'd be okay with that.

Minnesota needs to fall off. Dubnyk can't continue like that.
San Jose is done so in reality it's a 5 team race for 4 remaining spots (ANA, NSH, CHI and STL are in)

Vancouver 73
LA 70
Calgary 70

Winnipeg 74
Minnesota 73
Calgary 70
