They're trying their best to ruin Galchenyuk there as well. Therrien has a track record of not utilizing youth as well as he could.

You guys are forgetting that Jiri Sekac is the European Joe Sakic!

Therrien is a terrible coach, Habs fans hate the guy and I can see why.

He's kind of redundant being a left handed shot and we already have Baertschi who needs to play next year or be traded and I'm kind of over these "best players outside the NHL". Would rather the team focus on bringing in a defensive prospect.

He's a good head coach as he gets results but he has a shelf life and seems to totally melt down at the end of his tenures.

Too bad. Would have loved the Flames to nab DSP but I suppose it would have cost more for us to acquire him as division rivals.

Isnt it obvious?

Big bodied
Skates well
Physical
Young
Right hand shot

Checks off a ton of boxes in relation to our needs here. Basically a younger right shooting Bouma.

Yeah hes not Corey Perry but you need these guys too.

The Ducks must have thought they were getting J. Sakic.

I would have happily taken DSP for Glencross. Habs were supposedly interested in Glenny so I still hold out a tiny glimmer of hope we can get him.

They once attempted to acquire Mike Comrie for Corey Perry.

It will be interesting to see how DSP responds in a Canadian market, it might be the exact spark he needs to flourish....or he will cave to the pressure.

I am sure Sekac will learn more about playing defense on the Ducks too, so his two way game should be elevated.

Overall I like this for both teams. Probably not good for us when we play the Ducks again but it does look promising for what return we could get for Glencross, I want a D prospect that is close to making the NHL.

Get it done Treliving!
I agree! Montreal needed the size and they got that with Smith-Pelley while Anaheim probably a more finesse player and they got Sekac. Anaheim already have the big guys in the team.

Will be interesting to see what type of role that they play him in with Anaheim.

In Montreal he was 8th among forwards in Ice Time Per game (all in front are more established).

Could be utilized more on the PP but the guys the use are all better players then him at this point.

Plays lots of defensive minutes (44% offensive zone start) with Lars Eller and Brandon Prust being the guys he plays with the most.

If he gets more offensive zone starts you could see his production increase. (Same with Lars Eller)
