I like that Colborne is back on the third unit. Him and Jooris can rotate C/RW as necessary, so they're both facing off on their strong side.

The team just isn't the same without Lundqvist behind it - they have to score their way out of trouble more.
Here, this is a chart showing the goals against rate for every team in 25 game rolling bundles over the past 2 weeks:
NYR is heading steadily upwards.

So if I'm reading this right, basically this fancy graph is just save percentage flipped upside down. #advancedstats

Again, like I said on your time frame question, that's a rolling 25 game average of GA per 50 shots against (adjusted). Lundqvist has only been missing for 9 games, IIRC. So without him they've actually been a fair bit worse than most of the league, I'm pretty sure (I'd have to look).

No. Sv% is saves/total shots. This is (all shot attempts minus goals) / (all shot attempts)
Basically, instead of shots being used it's shot attempts. Calgary is as low is it is because they block the shooting lanes leading to a relatively higher number of blocked shots and missed shots

This is interesting, I haven't seen this put together? Do you have a link to an article or something I could read?

War-on-ice.com
Flames have a higher % of blocked shots compared to the teams I compared them (did my own calculations with a few likely teams at the bottom of the corsi% like Buffalo, Colorado, Toronto, etc.) and still they showed a lower % of shots/corsi. That to me means they have more missed shots against as well. I posted the numbers in some thread on here a month or two ago.
Basically, at 5v5 they allow the second most corsi against/60 (60.7), yet they allow the 12th most shots against/60 (29.0). When I did the analysis, the flames were allowing the 8th fewest shots against, but that has clearly gotten worse. The only reason for the discrepancy is they allow a smaller % of shot attempts to hot the net than most teams (most likely all teams, but that's a guess)

Also, your chart is further evidence. The flames are one of the best teams in GA/50 corsi, yet have a very mediocre sv%. Mathematically that means relative to the group, a smaller % of shot attempts reach the net

You should be able to figure out actual missed shots pretty easily - it should just be fenwick against minus shots on goal against. That actually sounds like the seed of an interesting article.

Game 1 of my wife's and my 4 game Eastern road trip with The Flames.
Gonna be sporting my new away retro Gaudreau jersey, hoping we can bring some luck in the early stages of this road trip.

Gaudreau-Monahan-HUdler line shouldn't break up (but then again maybe it should!) but I just had visions of unicorn's and rainbows and Poirier running roughshod all over the RW side of that particular line.

So since it was my 36th bday on Sunday and we lost 6-3 on Friday I think we win 6-3 today.

Looking at the OOT, it could be a good night for the Flames, we really need the oilers to win tonight. The rest of the games, I think the team we need to win can do it otherwise.
Should be a fun one!

Loubardias is speculating that one of Ferland or Poirier will play tonight. That would be exciting.
