Curtis Glencross plays for the Calgary Flames, and he should play for the Flames until he doesn't play for the Flames any more.

As a side note, I seem to recall a rumor saying that Glencross' "list" only had one team initially, and that team was Anaheim...

I would dress him for sure. It is in both our interests that he not only play, but play well.
Despite his troubles getting on the scoresheet and with injuries, Glencross has seemed like a more committed player this year, but that can't come as a surprise as it is a contract year.

it happened in '86 when the Flames traded Rich Kromm and Steve Konroyd for John Tonelli, has it happened more recently than that?

Can you imagine the reaction in this day and age of social media if that were to happen now?
Much criticism when Cammalleri got traded in game. There would definitely be a few negative nellies getting their nickel in.

Scratch him I say!!
The coach really has to have a heart to heart with him in light of yesterday's comments to figure out where his head is at. You can't afford to put a guy into your lineup if his head isn't into it. Yes he's a professional and should show up, but based on the comments from yesterday, he's not happy with the situation. If he's in the lineup and makes a boneheaded giveaway it's not a great thing either.
As the GM you are now in a situation where it's known you have a player that is disgruntled, and you better bloody well act. If this hadn't got out in the public the way it did, than it's different. But now it's well known, and you better fix it sooner than later.

Which comment makes him sound disgruntled? The one where he said he likes it in Calgary? The one where he said he loves the team and what they're doing? Or where he said he would like more ice time?
Too much ado about nothing here. No one benefits from sitting Glencross

Dress him, scratching him is a distraction.
That being said, plenty of time before the game for something to go down. If he is scratched, someting is likely very close. I cannot see Treliving getting the player scratched unless something is imminent.

I wonder if you're starting to get close with a couple of teams, you scratch him as bluff to drive up the price either side is willing to pay. Id love to see the inner workings of trade negotiations.

Dress him, and double-shift or even triple-shift him if the game goes out of hand. Show him who's boss!!

Count me as another person that's not a fan of the question. I don't think it's bad for the dressing room at all. He was just honest, and basically saying what we all knew anyway. And if we knew it, you gotta think the team knew it.
He didn't say anything bad about the team or his teammates. Didn't say he wasn't committed to the team. Didn't even really bad mouth the management. Only put the ball back in their court. Kinda pointless question IMO.
And as was mentioned on The Fan, all this could motivate him. It looks more and more likely he will be traded, so why not have some big games before then?

If a deal is close (one or two teams, finalizing the terms) I would sit him, but if this process is just starting I would play him.

I would agree with you if this was two years ago. The last two seasons have basically revolved around him making terrible decisions and plugging along at half speed most nights. From the outside it really seems like he's one of the few players that haven't completely bought into the team concept the last year or two under Hartley.

So quick to jump on the hate train.
Will be sad to see Glencross go. Have to put the comments aside for a second (which can you really be surprised are coming from a 32 year old upcoming ufa?), and remember what he's brought to the team for 7 years, as well as in the community, always representing the Flames at the stampede and hosting his own charity rodeo. Probably one of the biggest community guys on the team and took a discount to stay and help to boot.
"Scoreface" will be missed, even though he's run his course with the Flames.

I really dont' mind Glencross on this team at all. If he goes he goes but I'm not in a rush to shuttle him out the door either.
Anyway I think his comments were completely benign. We all mock Taylor Hall for saying he's not embarrassed about an 8-1 loss to their biggest rival and accuse him of having absolutely no heart. So on the flip side what is Glencross supposed to say? "No, I'm quite content not scoring in two months and having my ice time cut". Then the QOTD would be "Should we scratch Glencross because he's lost all heart?"
Voted for "Dress him, he hasn't been traded yet, bigger distraction to scratch him", but if "Dress him, nothing to see here" was an option I would have taken that.
Huge overreaction to his run-of-the-mill comments by many.

The only reason that makes sense to 'scratch' him would be to limit injury chances but I think that would send our trading partners the wrong message. Let Glenny play I say!
