Nice for the Biega kid to get his first goal.

Notwithstanding his unexpected offensive contribution and the Canucks win, I suspect the Edler and Bieksa injuries will ultimately cost the Canucks their playoff birth.

They simply don't have enough blueline depth to lose two of their top four defenders for an extended period.

It'll be a dogfight between the Wild, Flames and Kings for the last spot.

Kings in control of the game. Would not bet on TB.

Don't forget about Tanev too, although his injury isn't that serious.

Canucks winning in regulation was best case scenario. It's about making the playoffs for the flames and the wild are now four points back of Calgary, sitting on the outside looking in as opposed to two with a game in hand.

Have to include San Jose and Vancouver in there too. The Sharks are in the final WC spot right now and the Flames and Nucks both have at least one game in hand on them.

If LA wins tonight, those 5 teams will all be within 4 points of each other. 5 teams, 3 playoff spots (but only one that Minnesota can get).

Nice backhand shot on Nolan's goal assisted by King.

Whatever. At home against a team on its second of back to backs. It gets much harder from here for the Kings. 16 road games still... ah ah ah.

Carter puts the Kings up 3-1 with seven minutes left in the third period.

The Kings played well defensively towards the end of the game as the Lightning only had five shots on goal in the final period. Johnson scored with the extra attacker to make it 3-2 but Tampa could not tie it up, Kings win.

The Sharks have to be shaking in their boots right now. Sitting in the last wild card spot, 2 up on LA and 3 up on Minnesota, and both have 2 games in hand. Tomorrow, they get to play the powerhouse Preds who have only lost 4 times on home ice this season.

The Jets should be included too. All the teams you mentioned have games in hand on the Jets. The Kings have won so there are six teams within seven points of each other.

Just when you think you might be able to put the Kings to bed, they rattle off 4 wins in a row.

Wouldn't surprise me if they rattled off ten wins a row with their backs against the wall. Kings being the Kings was fun in the past when the Flames were a long ways out and had no shot at anything but a high pick. Now though, I wish they'd just **** off.

Also, finally the Wild lose a game, but of course it has to be to the Canucks. Well, at least it wasn't a 3 pointer I guess.

The Kings have won 5 in a row.

The Flames were one of those teams!

Kings are getting in, they will find a way and ten minutes after they get in, they should be respected as one of the best teams in the playoffs.

My worry is if they are in, who is out? I can see Tyler Myers scoring a goal a game from here out, he seems very happy in his new team environment. Can we get the Sharks to choke out of the playoffs - for once?

Not necessarily the best case. Had the Wild won in reg time, it would've meant the Canucks falling behind the Flames and not getting ahead in the ROW count with just a game in hand. That is also about making the playoffs.

The Hurricanes beat the Sens 6-3. I know it's a mean nothing game but what a collision between Lehner and his dmam MacArthur. They were both motionless for a while. Both teams trainers came out to check on the players. Shoot out the lights in the battle of New York. The Rangers win 6-5 in reg time. What a game and you don't know who the home team is when a goal is scored. On the flip side, it was a goalie's duel in Detroit. The Habs won 2-0, Price with the 25 save SHUTOUT. The Wild's wild point streak came to an end with the Canucks beating them 3-2 in reg time. The Dubnyk magic ran out of tricks but the Wild poured it on in the final minute trying to tie it up. The Kings have awoken and took it to the Bolts winning 3-1. The Avs have won 2 in a row as they beat the Coyotes 5-2. Easy win for Varlomov who made 4 saves in 2 periods, Berra took over for the 3rd period. The Coyotes did not register a shot on goal in the 2nd period. The stupid Oilers couldn't do most of the west a favour and defeat the Jets.

Yes, that seems like a reasonable prediction to me
