As long as the injury is disclosed to the acquiring team, it's okay.

Despite his attitude issues, you're unlikely to get a player of Kane's talent level with the STL or NYI picks.
I think this deal is pretty even for both sides, but Buffalo gets the two best players in the trade IMO, which to me says they win the trade.
Big trade. Like to see these blockbusters, they don't happen much anymore.

But yea, Stewart makes more sense.

That's a pretty terrible trade for Buffalo, IMHO.

You can trade injured players as long as you disclose all medical information.

Wow this really clears the decks for the Sabres in terms of a draft position. With Kane out for a year and the Sabres giving up Myers and Stafford that team is going to be ugly bad.
But you put Kane with CMcD next year and wow.
Edmonton will have to respond in kind.

Buffalo could also potentially flip Kane at the draft when teams aren't hindered by cap constraints and worried about their team chemistry.

Wow. I don't want to say we fleece Buffalo but we got amazing value for a problem child. Way to go Chevy.
Wait is this still not final?

Taylor Hall and Ben Scrivens are "hurt". This is Murray's response to that.
Your move again, MacTavish.

I'm interested to see how Myers plays on a competent team. The minutes and circumstances he was forced to play on the Sabres were mighty tough - starting just 34% of shifts in the offensive zone AND facing the other teams' best players is tough to overcome for all but elite players.

If the Flames end up competing with the Jets for a wild card spot - then that race isn't getting any easier.

Looks like a win-win situation to me.
Myers and Kane are both struggling where they are (in different ways) despite being given plenty of opportunity.
Kane is probably worth a bit more because even if he never sorts himself out, he can still get the job done on the ice, which is worth something.
So Myers and a 1st, for Kane? Plus a bunch of throw-ins? Sounds fair to me.

Doesn't hurt buffalo's chances at securing the top pick, trading away two main roster players for one, essentially (since Kane is allegedly out for the rest of the season).
