When the Flames become an excuse for bare breasts and drunken parades up and down the strip again you will see the bandwagon come back.

Every game from February 13th 2004 was sold out, they had different number of tickets released for each game as they opened more of the 300 section seats, so I think anything above 17,039 was considered a sellout.

Yes, but "fake" sellouts don't count.

I laughed when Doug McLean said "Treliving has got to lock his door when he hears Burkie coming down the hall". What he was inferring is that the Flames don't want to trade away any key pieces or high draft picks just in the hopes of making a deeper run in the playoffs this year.

However belief is building across the league that this team is poised to make the post-season this year.
I like that they're talking about us strategizing on how to help win a round in the playoffs, let alone whether we're able to make the dance.

Makes you wonder if that's something Treliving and co are even talking about, I mean beyond just us making it there. I think if the Flames have any sort of cushion on 9th by the deadline, you seriously consider how to better prepare your team to win a series against an Anaheim/St.Louis/San Jose.

The most obvious move though is beefing up your bottom pairing on the back end.

As for the hype though, I wonder how crazy the red mile will be if we do make it? Or if all the casual fans will even jump back in. Ah....people will eat up the atmosphere and reason to party, I'm sure.

I don't think I have seen so many Oilers fans at a game in Calgary before. This is just based on a personal observation, but out of the dozens of BOA games I have attended in the Dome over the years I have never seen so many opposing teams fans.

The team is competitive this season and the third period comebacks have been nothing short of amazing.

Are the typical casual fans just sick of attending games at the Dome because of the poor concessions and the line up for food and the bath rooms? Or does this team need to qualify for the playoffs or even win a round to bring back those types of fans?

Now I know, Calgary for the most part is a great hockey market. And that a lot of NHL teams would be envious for the kind of support the Flames receive here in Calgary. It just seems that not everyone in the city is as excited about the current play of the team as the typical die hard fans are this season.
One thing that would help is if one of our players starts leading the league in scoring like Iginla.

Doug McLean talking about Raymond drawing some interest from teams wanting to add speed. I wonder if he's talking out of his ass like usual or if there's actually something to that. Playoff spot or no, if Treleving get the chance to unload Raymond's contract and actually get something worthwhile in return he has to do that. The contract made sense when he didn't know what the Flames had on the farm, but now that it's clear there are a lot of young guys pushing for roster spots Raymond just doesn't fit
