What time do we find out if Olsen was claimed by anyone?Looks like a very interesting player and remember defense tend to take longer to develop. Big guy that sounds like he can play hockey and is only 24.Hope he falls to us and we claim him.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Hearing that Dylan Olsen cleared waivers so that's good for the Panthers

A little surprised he cleared, but also lots of similar defensemen already on teams.

Was wondering if a team might claim Olsen but Panthers are happy no one did, want to get him more playing time in AHL

They must see him as more than just a bottom pairing d-man because he's played in nearly every game this year, so it's not like he's not in the lineup regularly. However, he was only playing bottom pairing minutes and little to no PP or PK time, so I imagine they want to expand his game a little and eventually take over for someone like Kulikov or Mitchell on the 2nd pairing.

I think it's because Olsen still has the odd brain fart that they want to work out of his game, and Petrovic has also shown that he's pretty nearly NHL ready too, so they needed to see what he has to offer on a nightly basis.
