11-3-1 against the Pacific Division. 23 points against the Pacific is almost half the Flames' points (of 47 total) on the season.

The playoffs seem doubtful, but Ortio might get us there. We need to win a few games we shouldn't, Anaheim, Detroit, Nashville. We will need a goaltender to to keep it tied through 40 against the teams better than us to make it, Ortio just might be the one to do it.
Halfway through the season we see exactly why Hiller wasn't wanted in Anaheim.

For some reason I can handle Arizona games this year. I think it's because there's no weasel of Ribeiro on the team.

I thought Shore's line was very effective all night. I really like what he brought, and Colborne looked dangerous playing on that line. Give him a couple of games and he'll be even better. The kid is an NHLer for sure.

I think the Flames will elect to send Granlund down before Ortio at this point. He just calms everyone right down. Both the players on the ice and the audience watching.

That's pretty impressive considering the quality of the division (outside of Arizona and Edmonton obviously). You'd have to think that's one of the better records against the division in the NHL, no?

Hiller is a very steady backup, and so is Ramo. They've both been huge upgrades over last year.
But Ortio is a starter.

How about they just try Granlund with Engelland and waive Diaz?

Hartley has said he doesn't want to carry three healthy goalies. Ramo isn't far off, something has to happen soon.
I think we see Granlund and Ortio down fairly soon.
If Granlund is not playing in NHL games, he is better served playing top 6 time + PP time in the AHL.

Second straight game without playing a second on the PK. Didn't even take any offsetting penalties tonight either.

IMO, they lose both these last two games if not for Ortio.
HAVE to start him in SJ.

I think jinxes can only happen if said on game day. There's a couple games between now and then so it's okay.

Ortio has been awesome, no doubt. I think some people are a little too in love with him at this point. It has only been two games. Let's not start the trade Hiller talks just yet.

He looked solid in his time last year also, hes been great in the AHL (besides the first month this year)
You don't trade Hiller at this point though (unless you get a great offer)
Id rather trade Ramo for a pick, (if theres a market) since hes an upcoming UFA.

Can't they just pretend Ramo is still hurt for another week?
