They must both be thrilled.

Foligno and Nash would have been good captains.

I'm sure Sutter will want a tight-checking defensive game and he'll be sure to tell Foligno to draft Gio early.
IIRC from previous years, the rookies aren't involved in the main "draft" and goalies and defencemen must be chosen prior to a certain pick, so the final pick is guaranteed to be a forward, and Johnny and Gio should both be safe from being the last pick.

Gio has a lot of respect around the league I think. He is likely to go relatively high.
If they are interested in winning puck control relays they better pick Johnny.

It's in Columbus, they are just 'pandering' to the hometown crowd giving Foligno captaincy. As they should.

Is the breakaway challenge that really stupid event where Ovi went in with a hat and sunglasses and 2 sticks?
What a stupid event.

hmmm... you're probably right, unless they've gotten more serious about it since then, but I don't really watch these festivities anymore, just the highlights at night

I think it would be better to give Johnny 3 or 4 guys he can dance around, when ever he gets a clear cut break he always seems to get caught up in stick handling. I think eventually he will be lethal at this level with regards to shootouts/breakaways but so far this year he's truly dazzeled the crowds when he has some players to beat.

Not the straight speed trials. His is not that kind of speed.

Watching him live in multiple development and training camps, I must disagree.

Would be a complete waste of Gaudreau's presence if he doesn't play in the shootout or game.

He's fast, but not like some of the guys that will be there. He's probably behind 3-4 guys on the Flames for raw speed.
