The problem is, it's often in the worst interest of many of the people in position to affect that kind of change.

The media doesn't do reports on me doing my job correctly, either.

No one is saying because one cop tried to take home a girl from the drunk tank that all RCMP and Metro Police officers also try to take girls home from the drunk tank. It's transparent you keep doing this 'anti-cop' routine.

What IS telling about this is the involvement of other officers, including the supervisory officer, and the opinion of the disciplinary panel which all seem to point to a genuine apathy or indifference up to outright support towards the officer in question's actions.

The news media does positive news stories a lot, especially on cops.

Here's one from November:

Here's one from December:

Now, that says nothing about trying to dismiss the validity of what is an actual news story about actual police misconduct that is a part of actual ongoing general RCMP misconduct.

Is this not a valid news story? Can we only do news stories on police about calendars and food drives and drug busts?
I'm not sure if you're serious or just that daft. Why doesn't the media report about your job?? Seriously? Your posts are beyond ridiculous now.

I'll say it again, you may not propose that all cops drive drunk women home (or kidnap and forcibly confine as you put), but you follow it up with the internal assault allegations presenting it as some widespread, systemic problem amongst police. And before you say, "I didn't say that", let's be honest, that is what you are implying.

You speak like you have some sort of knowledge or information that we don't seem to possess. How do you draw these conclusions about what "IS telling?". Please enlighten us.

And remember, keep on keepin on.

If it's not an internal problem with the RCMP then I'm sure you can point to other organizations of similar size that have similar track records.

EDIT: Other organizations, for instance, would be the Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts of America. Saying these institutions have systemic abuse problems does not mean that all who are associated with said organizations are perpetrators.

EDIT #2: Can add the U.S. Military's longstanding problems with sexual assault as another example of an institutional problem.
