Nadal is in the 5th set against Tim Smyczek right now if you're up.

Nadal pulls through, Smyczek was amazing in defeat. And they still have another match to go that will be starting around 11:45pm local.

this is annoying to me...after the embarrassing "who would you like to date" on court interview questions last year, some creepy old dude asks Genie to do a twirl for him, and she obliges:
http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2015/.../#.VL_GFtXF8bw
let me know when they ask Rafa to lift his shirt and flex his abs for the ladies in the crowd, at least then I'll know they're treating everyone equally during the post match talks.

I'm glad Genie can laugh that crap off. But it seems to be an Aussie thing because we never see this stuff at Wimbledon or Roland Garros.

As a fan of sport, this kind of question really bugs me. It happens all over.
These are the top athletes in the world, show some respect.

It was in fun and tries to draw some personality out of the athletes instead of robot canned answers.
Genie laughed it off. Ok. All in fun.
As long as it isn't a regular thing.

Not really sure why this bothers you? Watching it live it wasn't creepy at all. Genie was vocal about loving Serena's outfit so Serena did a twirl for her. He then asks Genie if she wants to do a twirl back and does. Pretty harmless wasn't like he was demanding her to do something provocative it was to show off her outfit I'm sure Nike is thrilled.

I think some see it as a double standard. I was following the chatter on Twitter and folks aren't pleased because it's not like he'd be asking Nadal to show off his pecs or ask who his girlfriend is.
On the other hand, the Australian Open and US Open are a little more relaxed. You see things like Djokovic imitating his fellow players' mannerisms or singing a tune post-match. You'd never see that kind of an atmosphere at Wimbledon.

As far as this "controversy" goes, Bouchard is and has been very vocal about pursuing fashion so this is exactly where that was coming from. All these people digging deeper then that on twitter etc are just completely uninformed about her career and this tournament.
As for Wimbledon and Roland Garros, they could gain a lot from lightning it up a little like the Aus and US open have done. At least us fans get to see some personality from time to time.

A real nice showing by Vasek to move on. Milos with a straight set win over Young. Off to round three!

It's not a controversy, it's simply idiotic. You think Rory McIlroy walks off 18 at St. Andrews and gets asked some absurd, irrelevant question? Russell Wilson asked about fashion after the Super Bowl? I don't even think it's sexist or anything like that, simply pointless and awkward, it's putting them on the spot with nothing that has to do with why we care about them: the sport itself.
The only thing about Genie's personality I learned from that is she can handle an awkward situation well. There's all kinds of off the court profiles and interviews where they can talk about fashion and personality. Right after a match I'd kinda prefer they talk about the sport itself, like most sports do.
But hopefully we get some more post match awkwardness right up till next Saturday. Genie is up 2nd on Laver tonight so between 6:30 and 7:00pm MST most likely.

Milos looked darn good against Young (that inside-out forehand of his is a great weapon). I also like the fact that he's hiting some 2nd serves at 200 km/hr. As for Vasek, he needs to find out what kind of magic cream the training staff applied to his back and have some always at the ready.
Keep it going, Milos and Vasek.

Nice showing by Pospisil, but also concerning that he needed medical treatment twice.

Agreed. His back issues are worrisome.

Took a bit for Genie to find her rhythm in the opening set, but that second set was all business. Good stuff.

Garcia completely falls apart but Genie shows the grit in the first set. The errors are down right now and she's hitting lots of extremely high quality shots.
