My dad has had season tickets since 02-03, Section 224, Row 14, seats 11 and 12. Sat in seat 11 for the entire 04 playoff run that I could make. Saw them lose to Van in Game 3, paste the Wings in Game 3, and win 3-0 in Game 3 of the Finals. They were unreal seats, hanging over the Flames attack end and right in line with the goal line. For Game 6 of the Finals I was in section 112, row 6. I got on TV during the 2nd intermission right behind the ESPN crew with my Dad. Hilarity. Then *that* goal up the other end. Sadness. Saw Amonte score in OT in Game 1 against Anaheim in 06 too.

Best seats? 226 Row 1? Best value? Section 226, Row 5. Very start of the red section. Happen to be my season tickets since the dome opened in 1983.

The company I used to work for has four seats in section 120, 6th row. Right on the centre line. Those were pretty sweet.

Also remember a game in the Corral when I was 11 with my dad, he was given front row seats by some miracle. Not great seats, but as a kid that was the greatest game ever.

My friend and I moved up to the glass when the Flames took on the Islanders in a preseason game at CUC a few years back... if that counts

Other than that I've only been to one game (Dec 21/11 against Red Wings) and IIRC I was in sec 304 row 8-10ish. That changes next Friday though!

I've been in club seats in about row 15 on the blue line. I've been right on the glass about even with the face off dot. And I've been in suites a number of times. They all have their attributes.

Funny how some of the best seats are memories of games. AS it should be.

To me, just being anywhere in the dome against a competitor, the electricity of the game. The crispness of the air when you first sit down, makes all seats good. Generally I prefer the attack zone.

Also, 224 where I am is fun, but 216 has always rocked and is cheaper.

I don't know if I would call them the best because my view was blocked by the coaches and players whenever something big happened but my very first Flames home game was about third row behind the visitors bench thanks to my mom's cousin who traded her company seats with me and my dad. It was around 2001 when Freddy played in net and it was against the Wild.

When I was a moderator of the Flames official board back a long time ago, we were given seats in one of the suites for a preseason game.

Had seats in row 3, 2 seats away from the Visitors Penalty Box from the day they came to Calgary until 98. It was great seeing the Battle of Alberta up close, very very close. Wasnt great for seeing play development but it sure was great hearing everything and feeling the boards move on big hits....not to mention giving the gears to all the visitors in the PB.

I'm surprised no one here admits to buying PL price tickets and then after the 1st period moving down to empty 1st level seats.

Awesome because you can get in and out of the dome in a matter of minutes by skipping the concourse and using the elevator up and down from the avison young doors. There are also washrooms which rarely have a line and the saddleroom lounge within 30 seconds of the seats.
Terrible because I pay double what the person 6 seats over does and always somehow remind myself of it when watching the game.
So in reality, value wise I would say the seat 6 down from me is the best!

Are you a recent/new season ticket holder this year? Your seat description rings familiar to me as one of the options I had it narrowed to when selecting my seats. I ultimately went with 214 and a few rows higher than what you have, to get more along the side and away from the netting behind the goal lines. Hopefully I can slide down a few rows here/there over time. That will be perfect for me.

Was really lucky last season and able to sit in section 104 about 8 rows up from ice level if I recall. Being so close to ice level was a completely different experience really enjoyed it maybe Ill get lucky again this year!

You need to sit up against the glass once in your life. Not the greatest views usually unless the play is directly in front of you. But there's something to be said for being right up close when a big hit is thrown or if someone drops the gloves. Super exciting, not a good enough view to do it more than a few times.

Just for fun, here's the old Saddledome seating chart (circa 88/89):
Spoiler!

I wasn't smart enough to save any of my old ticket stubs from "SS1", but did hold on to this beauty:

This is true. I've sat front row a handful of times, and while I prefer to see the game from above, if you really want to understand how fast these guys are moving, how big they are, and how hard they hit, you have to be right there. It is an awesome experiece, especially if the Flames put up some goals.

I only make it out a few times a year but lately we have lucked into "obstructed" seating in Sec 110, row 3. Other end of the ice isn't too difficult to see and being that close is always great.

I really liked our seats last year in Sec 111, row 13 (I think? Maybe row 11?) Anyway, great seats, great view.

Our company also had row 1 behind the players bench through most of the 80's and 90's. I got a lot of pucks down there as a kid, including a game winning goal puck from Gary Roberts in (I think) the 89 cup run vs the Kings. Awesome seats, but every time the players stood up you couldn't see F-all.

Not so awesome when I was 19 and brought the girlfriend to the game, and had Ron Stern and a few other players down the bench give her the nod, while I stood beside her wondering if I should start hating my childhood heroes, or let it go because hey, they're all my childhood heroes.

It is a lot of fun for when the action is right in front of you. Watched Chris Nilan pummel Jeff Beukeboom up close at the Coliseum in the late 80's.

The one time great seats were bad: had first row in the 200's and looked over just in time to see the streaker clown get his balls caught on top of the glass. Really didn't need to see that.

My best is the Saddleroom Restaurant seats. Only two rows of seats.

The only place I haven't sat is a box come to think of it.

I prefer mid-level, centre ice, but usually end up in the corners.

Once time I bought tickets right beside the visitors bench, front row but it actually really sucked. I couldn't see past the players bench because Boogaard was standing the whole time.
