I actually thought they would win tonight, nope.
What a flop of a PP, everything was from outside.
Watching 5 on 5 blown chance after blown chance was beyong frustrating.
Hartley should have the entire team shooting on a cut out goalie from the slot and practice doesn't end until they each make 10 goals to drive home his message.
This many opportunities have to be capitalized on.

This is a team that shouldn't have lost 7 in a row, but they now look like they are going to give the Oilers a run for the longest losing streak of the year. Very strange times.

How can a team simultaneously look like they don't deserve to be losing night in and night out, yet also look like they'll never win a game again?

Such a strange season.

There's gotta be some karma for all us flames fans laughing at the oilers in play here.

Have mercy on us hockey gods!

Having built up a decent lead early this season, we still have a legit shot at the playoffs if we can turn this around quickly. I'm wondering if Sven should seriously be called back up. He wasn't contributing on the score sheet but:

11-3 with Sven

6-11-2 without Sven (including the start of this streak the day he was sent down).

I'm only half joking.

Other than MAYBE not taking Stajan out and putting Bollig in, what more do you expect he could've done? He tried lots today. Mixed up the lines about as much as he can. Nothing's working right now.

He looked more effective in his 4th line time than Raymond has with better line mates and pp time to boot.

Thank god the Flames have 2 chances to nip that streak in the bud playing the Oilers twice with the meat of an L.A game in between.

I'll be honest, I was pretty confident that the Flames would have not let it get any further tonight. Disappointing result.

If we were just going to implode in the end, did we have to play ourselves out of McDavid/Eichel contention first?

Ughhh just can't capitalize, how many times has Gaudreau had a glorious setup only to have it miss the net, I saw at least twice he coulda had assists... Hit the dang net guys! The levies' gotta break soon this is ridiculous!

And the PP needs to be better that's unacceptable...

That was a very poor effort by a team that might lose but goes out trying hard.

It was a terrible hockey game and Dallas is a terrible hockey team as well.

At this point I wouldn't even call the Oilers game a gimmie. The Flames have found lots of ways to lose over the last 7 games, they could probably find a way against Edmonton too

That's the most frustrating thing. Maybe the arms race starts early this year, and if the flames trade glencross, wiseman, ramo or hiller, jones, stajan, etc, the flames bottom out a bit...

0-7 since the injured guys started coming back. No way this is just a coincidence any longer. The vets on this team have done jack squat since returning to the lineup. Only Colborne has looked halfway decent. Something's gotta give.

Meh I don't think so. Hockey gods gifted us a lot early in the season, this is cosmic balance. Though I wish it didn't have to happen all in a row.

Half of the season isn't even over yet. Anything can happen either way. The way the basement teams outside of edmonton seem to be getting stronger you could very well see the old switcheroo by the end.
