Byron is on pace for 12-13 goals and 25 points over the season. That's an okay number for a 3rd liner. How he gets those points isn't a big deal.

If I can pick between two guys that score the same amount of goals but create a different amount of scoring chances, I'd rather have the guy that creates a lot of scoring chances. It creates more pressure for the opposition. It's also probably more sustainable.

The guy is an integral part of the team just like Johnny is. Johnny had to sit a game to get a better look at things to find his game, Byron should do the same. He plays a great game for an energy guy but he still needs work. He clearly has the heart and motivation to improve his game and if he gets sat for a game and they tell him to work on his creativeness on breakaways, it might help.

I don't think we should demote or trade him but I think he needs to watch the game from a different angle to improve that one aspect of his game.

Blake Comeau is on track for 25-30.

He looked a lot like this when he played here.

Byron will figure this out. I'd rather it happen here with the Flames.

Imo he is best when he has no time to think. Right now he is too fast and has ages to plan his move, and all this can't score on the breakaway stuff is on his head.

Exactly. Bigger concern for me is his line mates don't jump on the crease confusion Byron causes.

Maybe not a great idea on penalty kill. But at even strength guys should be doing better garbage collection.

Honestly I feel like Monahan would play well with Byron for this exact reason. Monahan always seem to know where the puck is going to be around the crease and can finish so can be the garbage man to finish rebounds/scrambles created by Byron.
