So don't buy high end cars because you're flaunting your success? Don't buy huge mansions?
Modern western civilization is built on flaunting wealth.

This is not about what he has purchased or where he lives. It is just rubbing it in peoples faces for the sake of just that. Arrogant.

And how is that different than driving down the street in a ridiculous car?
As for rubbing it in the faces of the media?

A car or a house is an asset. This is just an arrogant post with nothing more intended than to brag or get noticed. Yes, people notice, but the ones that see it as an affront to the proper way to be in society are the ones that see it as a dick move.
Just because he can, doesn't mean he should.

It's a player finally showing personality and humour. You're allowed to not find it funny, you're allowed to find it in poor taste but it literally has nothing to do with his performance on the ice or himself as a person in the community.
He could be making league minimum and taking that same picture, it has nothing to do with his contract or mocking anyone for it. Hell, I can take that same damn picture.
If he was sitting on a stack of 6mil and smoking a fatty with a bottle of Grey a week before camp opens... then be offended.
Otherwise, it's someone trying to be funny and have fun.

Highly doubt that. Should he tell him to grow up? Sure, but what 23 year old hasn't been told that?
Kane is a good player. Definitely an asset that you don't dump within hours of a completely harmless instagram pic.

haha, a car is not an asset. It's a tool, and when you buy a flashy one, it's a way to show off.
There's no difference.

The strict definition would disagree.
Asset - A possession that can be turned into cash to cover liabilities.

But we're not talking about the strict definition. When you buy a really expensive car, it's flaunting your wealth.
People don't like Evander Kane, and that's what this is about.

I disagree. I don't know him, like most others on this site, maybe all. I certainly can't say that I don't like him. You think it is about that.
It is that his instragram in very poor taste. It is about what others might interpret of his personality from this posting. IMO it shows that he is immature and arrogant. Whether it was posted by him or anyone else. It has nothing to do with him as Evander Kane, but everything to do with how a 'Person' should act. Again this is my opinion.
I am unimpressed due to his lack of good social etiquette and you obviously are not, so no use carrying on about it.

People don't necessarily buy nice cars with the intent of showing off. Compared to stacks of cash it has some utility and there are differing levels of performance. There's obviously a segment of the population that do it to show off, but I think a lot simply enjoy driving and nice cars actually drive better.

You know what a stack of cash has the utility to do?
Pretty much anything.

Most places wouldn't accept tens of thousands in cash unless they knew it was clean. I meant the actually utility in physical form. It would probably be easier spend from a bank account than walking into a place unannounced with a few hundred grand in cash. Just having that much out in public or in a hotel room is stupid.
