I get the feeling tiger is playing out his endorsement contracts. I don't think he wants to be there.

Of course, they showed him as I typed that.

Maybe it is just me but with the asterisk I wish they indicated which hole on the course they were playing instead of the number of holes they played.

I love the heavily contoured greens on that course. It would be so much fun to put around on those greens and watch the balls break and turn and slide.

Course is playing very easy right now, lots of guys under par today and lots of birdies being made. The right player could challenge the major record score of 63 (mostly because it's a par 70).

Not a lot known apparently. The tv guys are saying that he has been suffering vertigo like symptoms for about a month but when he was checked out nothing wrong could be found. He doesn't look good though.

I think it would be safe to assume that the US open will never return to Chambers Bay. Players whining about the set up is to be expected at this tournament, but this is on an entirely different level- seems to be unanimous that the course is not US open material and the players are way more vocal about it than ever before. The course is almost unwalkable, the fan viewing areas are so far away from the players, the greens are bumpy, and the slope around the greens is just a little too extreme- US open or not, a ball should never roll 130yds away from being 2 yds off the intended target.

Gary Player just called it the worst course he's ever seen in 63 years as a pro. Players calling the greens unplayable left and right. At this point it seems like punishment to be in the last few groups of the day as the scores have gotten worse each of the first two days as players went out later.

Chambers Bay will indeed never host another US Open, better question might be how much will this week hurt the course long term in terms of attracting regular golfers to play it? You basically would only go there for the novelty of such a ridiculous course...but not for several hundred a round.

Personally, I think it's a great test of golf and I've really enjoyed watching it. Players whine about the US Open every year.

I personally love what I am seeing from the course and watching the golfers try to navigate it. It reminds me of the British Open. I'd rather watch the players struggle, scratch their heads and get frustrated as opposed to destroying a course and shooting 7 or 8 under every day.

This is the dumbest course I've ever watched an important golf tournament played. Between the clown mouth greens and fairways that may either leave your ball in a perfect spot or throw it into a maintenance road. It is much more fluke than good golf. Spieth and I guess DJ up at top is the only thing to suggest there may be skill involved

Yeah there's a difference between guys struggling to make pars and the course simply being ridiculous. They just played at Merion in 2013 and that's a great course that no one complains about, and Justin Rose won with +1. But this course is pretty much a novelty course.

I can't say I mind the coverage overall. But the 18 replays of Jason Day falling down, the non-stop coverage of the fire in the marina and the silly short skirt awkward post round interviews challenge your statement.

Non-stop coverage of the fire? They talked about it briefly during a break, showed it once or twice close up, and the rest was smoke from the fire. Yes they talked about it during play, but it wasn't non-stop.

Fox coverage has been different - some good some bad. Thought it was bad form to send Norman down to get an interview from Day right after his round.

Like some of the things like showing the pin with a graphic and showing distances.

Think that the pros have to stop whining publicly about the course conditions and setup and focus on playing. Loved Justin Rose two years ago when he said he just took what the course gave him.

Shoulda known Fox would go Fox with the camera right in Day's face all day.

And now the split screen while Day is walking between holes?? Come on.

I joked to a buddy yesterday that Rory was going to shoot 59 and win. Might not shoot 59 but he very well may win right now. If he can post -4 or better he'll be sitting mighty pretty.

Sorry, but that is a little silly- Day hits it right up the middle and the ball rolls 40yds laterally to the fescue??
