Nibble nibble boys. Yes, I was being sarcastic. Didn't want to make it too obvious by adding an emoticon in there. Sorry, British humour for you.
Seriously though, this is twice that Stamkos has had a poor night against the Flames. No points and 1 shot in 20 minutes at the Dome, then 2 shots and a -1 in 16 minutes tonight. Just a shame the rest of the team stepped up.

Ah, subtle British humor, how I've missed you. Don't get much of it here in the States. Everything is smash you over the head heavy-handed jokes with a laugh track added just in case you missed it.
I need to go watch Fawlty Towers or Blackadder now.

Kent Wilson @Kent_Wilson
Corsi +/- for Sven tonight was +17 -7 (71%). He didn’t deserve the bench.

Last game it was that Hartley was waiting to see more from him tonight. He should have seen it multiple times in the first. Yet he is still benched. Mixed messages. But it is all Baertschi's fault I am sure.

Thought Monahan played great, struggled on FO's but everyone did tonight. Gaudreau wasn't excellent, seemed to be fighting it just a bit but he still made some very good plays. Jooris was excellent in the first, thought he become more invisible as the game wore on. He did draw some penalties though with his great skating. Setoguchi was fine, but he should not be getting this much PP time. I thought Baertschi was fine tonight, had a bit more offensive flair, especially in the first. Tapered off at the end, barely any ice time, which makes a bit of sense being down by 2. Didn't even realize Glencross was playing tonight.
Loved Gio and Brodie tonight. Awesome as usual. As people have pointed out the second D pairing struggled tonight. I thought Wideman was actually worse than Russell, I feel like that 4th goal was entirely his fault and was more detrimental then the SHG, even though that was really bad. Wideman's skating stood out in a bad way tonight, and I feel like that brought the pairing down, but neither were very good tonight.
Hiller was okay, made some big saves. However I feel like Ramo deserves to get a shot.
Overall tough game. Tampa's speed forced some turnovers, and let them dominate possession, especially in the third. I felt like we really struggled with breakouts today, struggled with that first pass. Personally, I would like to see Glencross sit a game, guy is good at deflections, but otherwise hasn't been noticable. For someone who is supposed to be a leader, he hasn't shown enough IMO. Setoguchi needs to start producing, or I think he will be sent down when we get some injured players back.
Hoping for a bounce back game Saturday. I am hoping the flames don't take the Panthers too lightly, otherwise we could be looking at another loss.

May well be.
Did some good things early but IMO stands out like a sore thumb because of one thing.
Soft as butter.
More so than any other Flames forward.
He cannot afford to be that guy.

Well, CFF has made sure everyone knows that.
Oh, and "soft as butter" continues to be a common phrase in this thread.
Yeah, never mind that he pushed the play more than any other Flame tonight.

Yes it is not a Sven's fault I would agree. Even Jg/Jooris etc did not play the minutes they deserved in the first 3 games of the year they played( Sven's 3rd game was tonight). Hartley does adjust accordingly tho as we have seen as the year does on.

Ok seriously stop it. You're being a child. I made a critique about one part of his game, a well founded critique. I don't have a vendetta against Baertschi, I'm just calling it like I see it. I never said he was sulking, but wondered about his positivity and ability to handle adversity.
Quick question, are you Sven's dad?

You were complaining about him in the GT for ridiculous reasons when everyone else was praising him. TBQH, your opinions on him really aren't valid.

No, I don't like parts of his game. I've been a Baertschi fan since we drafted him. I want to see him succeed. I'm pulling for him every step of the way. Do not mistake accurate criticism for having hatred for a player. He needs to do some things to become an NHL player, mostly adjust his mental approach to being a pro. That's it, that's all. I have been mostly silent on the Baertschi front for the past couple years, but because I voice my opinion today you guys think I have some beef with the kid.
*shakes head* I just don't get where all this vitriol is coming from.

It is a fair point. He didn't play great a game ago and the general tone was that he didn't deserve more ice time.
This game he got two shots, blocked a shot, had a decent take away, and led the team in shots for vs against in the fist half and yet he was still benched in the second half, had 0 seconds of PP time, and was near the bottom in ice time for the forwards.
Meanwhile Setoguchi led the team in PP time and was one of the ice time leaders overall for Flames forwards. Glencross somehow got 18 minutes overall and almost 3 minutes on the PP.
What is the message Basertschi is supposed to receive with this benching? Don't play so well or else?? The coach doesn't seem to like him. Running out of explanations.
