I disagree that +/- isn't meaningful.
Relative +/- is. When you are like Giordano (last year) and are +10 on the Flames when nearly every player is minus, it is indeed telling.
To compare one player to another on a different team is not.
That O'Reilly is bad in relation to the rest of his own team is telling, imo.

The Avs reminds me of the Flames under Darryl Sutter, have you seen the amount of shots Varlarmov faces every night? His workload is very similar to Kipper. They rely pretty heavily on goaltending rather than good defensive play
