Random question on this topic - if I eventually get a hair transplant, do those hairs go grey?

I would assume so. You are just cutting hairs from one past of your head and moving them to another. The move won't stop them from turning grey.

I might make a couple of guys mad posting this but I went in to get a haircut last week and the girl cutting my hair had to actually thin out the hair on top a bit because it was too thick and wouldn't sit down. I'm 32, never found a grey hair and things still look pretty thick. I'll probably die young but I'll look good in the coffin.

Hahaha don't get cocky.
Like I said, my hairline is receding quite a lot but my hair is still ridiculously thick and my hairstylist thins it out every time I get it cut as well. There's different types of balding and it can hit you at different times and at different speeds and in different places on your head.
My whole family has a ton of hair too. Niether my dad or either grandpa's were balding.
Apparently only something like 10% of people who experience balding don't see anything until their 40. So if you haven't started losing your hair by then, you're probably good. Until then you are fair game.

Pffft 20’s is nothing. I started losing it around 16, visible thinness through early 20’s, and now at 27 she’s pretty much all gone.
I've been told I have a nice shaped head now that I buzz what I have left extremely short. Guys who have a full head of hair and complain about going grey don't know a thing about real struggle.

Haha yea, I know it's possible, for sure, I don't have anything receding so far as I can tell and I've asked during haircuts a few times. I've heard that hair genes are generally thought to come from your mother's side, so if your mothers father is balding etc etc. Mine died young, had a full head of hair though, hence my offhand remark!

Enjoy it!
I miss having a normal hairline. Although one thing I did tell myself is I refuse to be one of those guys that clings to my hair. I actually buzzed it for 3 years straight and then last year I grew it out again and recieved a lot of comments on how much better it looks.
Funny thing is those compliments made me feel worse cause I know the end of having hair is near. If I'm not back to buzzing it in 5 years it will be a miracle.

My hair started to turn grey at the temples around 40. My bigger problem is how thick and coarse my hair is. It grows like crazy. I keep it close to the bone to hide the grey and cuz it is a royal pain in the ass when it is long.

My hair started to turn grey about the same time as I needed glasses to read i.e. mid 40's. The grey hair thing seems to be completely variable. I've seen guys, we called 'Silver Fox", in their late 20's, and I had a brother-in-law who had jet black hair, and no grey, in his 70's.

Around 32 ish for me...
Right around when i got married.
Most of my hometown friends all work trades so they have to constantly be wearing hats helmets etc...
I consider myself lucky to have all my grey hair at 45 while most of them are bald...

Started seeing strands of white starting around 22-23.
Based on family genetics, I will have a full head of hair even at the age of 70. Not pure white either, I will still have some color. Not too bad a trade off for random dice rolls for other health issues.

I have a few (growing number) of grey hairs in my beard and I went full metrosexual and plucked them with tweezers. I (for some reason) mentioned this to a couple women who are a lot younger than me and they told me I was crazy. The salt and pepper is a good thing. Who knew? I guess George Clooney did, but I didn't. Thought it made me look like an old geezer. No more tweezers for this geezer.

Got a few single grey hairs popping up around 25-26. It's always just a very small smattering of them since.
As Rouge mentions above it seems like a lot of women like the salt and pepper, my wife does.

Too much testosterone, big bald spot on top. Greying up on the sides. Bugged me for a little while, but I can't really remember the last time I grew my hair out.

My beard started greying in places in my mid-20s. Nothing in my hair, and I'm 32, although it is thinning.
