Shades of the TB game. Flames are sure strange to start the season... Losing games they should win, winning ones they should lose... Happy to see them scoop up another point but I don't think consolation points will get them anywhere close to playoffs.
Johny was a beast
Jones played a good game
Im not going to name who I thought played poor to avoid the debate - someone else will surely point it out.
Hiller looked good as well - the only goal was a absolute fluke.
Hudler will get his goals soon enough. He does all the little things right and is a pest. It was obvious his job was to stick to PK in OT and PK couldnt get his rush going.
I also quite enjoyed the habs commentator between the benches to give different perspectives and thought he did a great job not being a homer.

The Habs (mostly because of their fans) are such a hateable team. Hate to lose to them, even if we probably deserved better.
Just as a discussion point, what did you guys think of Gaudreau in the last 45 seconds of the OT?
Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like he was running around more than usual. I don't expect him to be a Kopitar level two-way player, but I'd at least like to get to the level of a Hudler. Somehow who doesn't block shots but is at least decent positionally. You could tell his moving from left to right, dfence to forward, etc.. on that shift really disoriented his teammates. We were lucky not be be scored on.
Don't get me wrong. I think this was one of Gaudreau's best games as a Flame. But I really hope his defensive game grows as the season goes on.
Man, Johnny is so much fun to watch. This is only the beginning and he seems to make other teams panic when he has the puck.
That Montreal team was so dirty and unsportsmanlike. The knee on stajan. Gallagher stabbing at the puck under hiller a full 4 seconds after the whistle blew. Patiorettty putting the puck in the net well after the whistle and still no call. Price embellishing any kind of contact.
It wasn't commented on but I think it was emelin who went and sucker-punched gaudreau in the side of the head after a whistle even though he wasn't even close to the play or the net. Not even enough class to face gaudreau straight on and try to punch him.
Definitely a night where mcgrattan would have earned his paycheck on the ice setting them straight.
