Obviously.
How could it be anything other than my opinion?
I posted the definition because my statement couldn't possibly be objectively true, so assuming I thought it was, was a bit strange.

This statement cracks be up because it is perfect stereotypical women logic. From the use of the word we to the justification that how much an object costs will change how you use it even if it provides the same function as the cheaper one. Its got everything in there.
Best line in the thread.
What I would do is now that you know what she is looking for in terms of appearance is go shopping without her, find something that loosely fits her criteria in a lower price bracket, make sure they have a return policy, buy it, get a generic black box to put it in, then ask her if she likes it.
I would suspect part of her issue is that once she knows it comes from a cheap store it immediately clouds her judgement to if she likes it or not. So if you can take that factor out it should be possible to get a white gold or platnum ring of the same quality and appearance for less money then tiffany or berks. Lots of white gold and Platinum in the 300-500 range.
For me I went Titanium at about 150 or so.

I agree; and screw those jerks who polish up their Ferraris and Lambos. Taking better care of their cars more than people with 1992 Tercels that haven't been washed in years.
I mean, both provide the same function (auto transport), so clearly such behaviour is totally typical woman logic. Why would anyone but a dumb woman want to take better care of more expensive things?

I was hoping by using the word sterotypical that this post wouldn't have occured but I guess it did. I just think that logic is funny. And when I see sterotypical bro logic I think that is funny too.
A wedding rings value should be dervived from what it symbolizes not how much was paid for it. So if is $10 or $1000 the cost of losing it should be roughly the same.

Find one that you like. Everyone is different but I know that my wife likes seeing me wearing mine so I had better like it.
And with a man's band the cost doesnt matter so much.

Two in one thread overkill?
I can reel it back. Posting 3 or 4 in two months does seem extreme.

How many married men actually wear their rings? Just curious. Haven't worn mine since my wedding day 8 years ago. I can't stand wearing jewelry of any kind including watches.

This thread seems to be full of ###### bags. What's going on men? Is it that emasculating to admit you wear jewelry, especially expensive jewelry? Get whatever ring you like. If simplicity is your thing, well you're in luck because those are the cheapest…enjoy! If you like something more elaborate or has some styling to it…great, get it then! If you want it to be precious metal…do it…if not…no biggie.
This is just my opinion, but the ring is a symbol of a commitment that should be unbreakable or at least highly valued. What you spend shouldn't be a big deal, but if you spend too little and are against the idea of spending a decent amount of money, then subconsciously you don't really value the commitment that you're making because you aren't willing to invest some money in the symbol of that commitment. Agree with me or not, it's important to spend a decent amount of money on certain things in life. I would argue a wedding band shouldn't be under $100, no matter what your income level is. You shouldn't spend less on your wedding band than you would on alcohol for your bachelor party. Priorities and all that.

One idea for the OP is to look at grey gold. That's what I ended up going with, much more subtle than white or yellow gold. Mine has a matte finish too.
As far as price goes, I'm not in any position to give advice. One of our best friends (and maid of honour) is a jewelry designer. I commissioned her to design the engagement ring and then the wedding bands to match. Did I spend a healthy amount of money? Yup. But our rings are completely unique and made just for us. I also had the advantage of getting married for the first time in my 40s after I had built a good amount of financial stability.
Probably not an option for the OP, as turnaround time on a custom piece is more of a 6-8 week schedule.

My husband wears his outside of work - given that he works in an environment where wearing his wedding band could cause him the loss of his finger(s) it doesn't bother me in the slightest. But the choice to wear it when he's not at work is his - and has been for 24 years. So yeah, some married men actually wear theirs.
