If you're not planning to wear a suit to the wedding it's not likely to matter if you wear a tie or not.
Good quality clip-ons are not available because there is no demand.

Do they make adult clip on ties? My young boys have 2 or 3 clip on ties, but I've never seen big boy clip on ties for adults...

The lack of a suit pretty much narrows down the selection of ties to this; which is the only one that is even remotely acceptable to wear to a wedding without a suit.
What man does not own a suit or at least a tie?? I can see no suit but how else are woman going to tie you to the bed without a tie. Sure you could use a belt but a tie you can get more creative with

The reason the ties in rentals are all pre-tied is so that when you are getting married all the mens knots are the same and consistent. So for the purpose of the wedding for best photo's this pre-tied is actually a better result.

Why can't the person show some pride and learn how to do it just as good? After all the person that originally tied it had to lerarn to as well.
Take a sharpie and draw a tie straight onto your shirt, it will look better than any clip on, is even less work and will survive as long as the shirt does!

I can't see how you could possibly draw a straight looking tie that way. A better suggestion would be a strip of duct tape.

Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand.
Walmart sells quality clip-on and zipper ties for $10-$15.
P.S. If you don't own a suit, buy a sports jacket. Every man should have, at a minimum, a decent sports jacket in their closet.
And if you refuse to buy a sports jacket for the wedding, please don't show up wearing blue jeans. Have a little pride and at least wear a pair of casual slacks, at the absolute minimum, along with your dress shirt (it is a dress shirt isn't it?) and your clip-on tie.
PPS. If you wear a sports jacket, you can get away without a tie and still look dressy.

Wrong! Everyone's tie knots being identical is awful and looks ridiculous.
The reason brides nowadays insist upon uniformity is because in England, they would (sometimes still do) dress in morning dress for formal occasions like weddings. There are rules for morning dress, but at least you still tie your own tie!
The tradition of having the wedding party dressed all identically is a basterdized version of morning dress passed down from tuxedo rental store to wedding planner to bridal magazines to compulsive handwashing brides and so on. That's the reason groomsmen are wearing matching fuchsia pocket squares like some weird row of robot clown car salesmen. Wearing a matching costume doesn't look better, it looks absurd. Anyone getting married will lose many battles with their bride-to-be, but try to win this one!

Wait, so I should for real not wear a tie if I'm not wearing a suit? I've never heard of this. I was going to wear dress slacks, a short sleeve button up dress shirt, and a tie. That's my uniform for every wedding I go to.
