A while back (I think when Iggy came back to town with Boston), the 960 morning guys discussed Iginla's value to Flames fans in comparison to his value as a NHL player. Essentially, the discussion revolved around whether Iginla was truly an 'elite' talent, or if Flames fans simply elevated him to that status because he was a career Flame, in a similar manner to how Leafs fans elevated Sundin.
If joining the Bruins at age 36, being trusted to play on the first line, and scoring 30 goals last season doesn't convince people of Iggy's elite status as an NHLer, then let the videos shared in this thread serve as evidence. Amazing stuff here, and thank you to all posters for the reminders and memories!
As for MY particular memorable goal, I remember a goal that John Tonelli scored in the mid-1980s where he rifled the puck THROUGH the net. This was well before the days of video replay, so, as far as I remember, verification that the goal was scored occurred when the linesman inspected the net mesh and found a hole. I can't find video of this--it was pretty irrelevant. But it made Tonelli my favourite 'rifle' over Al MacInnis...
I remember in 2004, the Flames acquired Ville Nieminen and we were playing Ottawa towards the end of he regular season at home. That game was a true test of the Flames against the best in the league. Nieminen, with only a few minutes left in the game, tore past the Left Defenseman, cut across the entire crease, and roofed it for the go ahead goal. The dome erupted.

I have always thought Cundari's first NHL goal was a beauty. When I saw it live, I said to myself "what just happened?" I wasn't expecting him to take the shot.
I'll always remember a goal by Joel Otto breaking down the Wing and deking a guy out at the Blueline and then dancing in for the goal. I remember it more for the call on the evening highlights more than anything, they said "Otto looking like Jean Beliveau out there" or something to that effect. It was a beauty for the big man ad showed how soft his hands really were.
Maybe not so much the goal as the celebration on a Jiri Hudler goal in he last couple of years. Scores, the skates over to the corner where the Camera was and just stares at it like it wasn't a thing. Solidified my fandom of Hudler right there. IIRC, it was a nice goal too.
