However, just the fact that we can rationally debate a 4th round pick's value amongst the past few year's top 5-10 first round picks, speaks volumes to the flames drafting in the past few years.
I wouldn't say there have been any rational responses besides yourself lately.

Cammalleri could be in the ball park. Put up 60 points at 18, then on pace for 60 at 19, before turning pro at 20. He likely would have smashed college had he stayed another year.
Yes, because we're all just looking at points when considering Gaudreau's success. It wouldn't have anything to do with the way he dominated pretty much every game he played in last season, and at every level. Points are what Oiler fans focus on, but smart hockey fans actually watch the games and observe how well a player is in both ends of the ice.

I think most of us get that fans overrate the prospect base of their own teams but there hasn't exactly been a lot of over the top homerism here as the Flames prospect base is judged to be better than the Oilers and Canucks as it's not just our opinion and there's really not much to debate when you look at top to bottom prospect depth. To say that responses that don't fall inline with your beliefs are "irrational" is simply silly.
