Somewhere in one of my pals Facebook (I looked and can't find it) is a photo of a buddy of mine duct taped to a wheelchair, about to be thrown off the top deck of a houseboat. In the middle of the Shuswap.

Poor fella sank like an anchor.

I've only been a handful of times, but EVERY TIME our boat was leading the charge on pure stupidity. It started the second we got there, and didn't end until we stepped off the waterway dock.

I suggest everyone tries it at least once.

Ive got nothing to add in terms of describing the party atmosphere.

Remember to play safe (in all ways). Im surprised more injuries and deaths don't happen given some of the stuff Ive seen go on.

The body of a former Airdrie Thunder Player who drowned during a houseboat trip on Shuswap Lake last August has been found.

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed Kevin Boutilier's body was recovered on July 10.

On Aug. 10, 2013, 25-year-old Boutilier and friends were in the hot tub on their boat when a strong wind blew one man’s baseball cap off his head and into the water, according to Sgt. Dave Dubnyk with Sicamous RCMP.

Several of the people, Boutilier among them, went after it as a storm descended on the Shuswap Narrows, the centre part of the H-shaped lake, which officials say is between 300 to 400 feet deep.

While in the water, the boat began drifting away.

Close.
Meatballs 5 is coming out next Summer.
Plot is going to be Nerdy Social Outcast Houseboat with a zany Houseboat Counsellor vs. a Crossfitting Social Elite Houseboat in the annual Lake Koocanusa Houseboating Olympiad.

Insanity Ensues.

Jason Biggs is being cast naturally.

There's about 10 spots left at the moment and as I have told a couple others, I can't hold spots unless people have paid. Unfortunately that's why I'm scrambling to fill spots, I held spots for people that hadn't paid and then they backed out on me.

Still have spots open! Everyone is welcome, don't be shy! It's a great chance to get out and meet new people, not only will you be hanging out and partying with the 50 in our group but also with the 20-30 other boats that are docked on the beach at night. I've made a ton of great friends houseboating, in fact a lot of my closest friends I originally met houseboating!

There's still 2-3 spots open if anyone wants to come last minute! We did a great job filling the boats and just need a couple more to be full!

Msg me if interested!

He went deep enough that the tape peeled off, and swam to the surface.

His words were something along the lines of "it was dark, and I was sinking. I got the tape off, and swam towards the light".

Good old houseboating, I need a vacation after I go, not sleeping for 3 days really gets to you.

Every time someone says "that's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard" I correct them and say no, it IS the stupidest thing you've ever heard.

BTW he had a sink sponge taped to the back of his head in case he didn't make the distance from the top deck to the water.

'cause you know.......safety

How did this turn out? We drove to Revelstoke on the 15th, got started there and came back on the 19th.. 5 solid days = 5 days of recovery

And didn't even catch a mooring line to the throat once, Neilson beach is a death trap
