You can puck battle, you can't hit. You can't open ice hit or hit/rub someone out along the boards like you can in the men's game.
Still physical yes, but not, IMO, physical enough.
For the life of me I can't understand the reason for the different rules.

I don't know if they are some kind of girls all-star team, but they are incredible skaters.
The boys didn't take to losing to them very well, and the last game of the season got ugly, with the coaches threatening violence on each other. Quite a gong show.

ugh, spring hockey

If I recall, body contact was allowed for the first World Championship in 1990 but the IIHF changed the rule afterwards. It was because the European teams were already disadvantaged skill-wise with respect to the North American teams.

i have played on a few mens teams that played teams most made up of women, and positionally, the women were far better than us and the first period and half are usually an uphill struggle as we had to come to grips with playing against women and thier style fo play, but once we started pushing back, the game always changed.
toget to the NHL, a woman would have to play completely with boys including college/CHL teams - that would be a hard road to go, because of the isolation of a female on a mostly male team - she'd have to have her own locker room and be somewhat excluded from the team.
i can't see it happening........

The San Antonio Spurs hire Becky Hammon as an assistant coach:

Is there any reason a woman couldn't be an NHL assistant coach, other than the fact the NHL is a notorious old-boys club?

You’ve got a tattoo with the Latin phrase dum vigilo curo. What’s the story on that?
I actually have three tattoos. That’s my biggest one, from my family coat of arms. It means, literally, “While I watch, I care.” And not just honoring my family, it’s sort of the approach I give in my life. If I want something to improve, I need to watch it. I need to consciously make the decision to improve. I use the word sedulous. It means working with a purpose, diligently toward a goal. I’m very goal oriented and driven, and passionate about what I do.

Don't you find it hard tying skates with your hockey gloves on?
