Ignoring all your slap-fighting, I think it would be hugely entertaining to watch LeBron James on skates.

That's even worse.

Hall shows no sign of progressing to that level and will likely remain the way he is for years to come. Even the pre drafting hype surrounding Hall isnt nearly at the level of Lebron's. Really poor comparision where Lebron had the hype of being a generational talent going in and proven that he is such a talent when he went to Free agency.
Why compare even bother comparing someone who is and was to someone is hasnt and wont be?

Hasek? now you're doing a bit better, but Lebron is beyond a franchise player, he's a generational talent. Crosby, is the only one who you could really compare him to in terms of talent to the rest of the league

I advise you to read the op, you are spending to much time talking about Lebrons hype. Op just said our best player/ franchise player. Not generational player. Hall is edmontons best player and is a ppg+ top line winger, that's a big blow to any organization.

I know who Tiger Williams is, he was a Canuck goon. Been out of the NHL for a long time. Still holds the all time record for penalty minutes in the NHL, a record that will probably will never be broken.

Brady Lamb is a defenseman that played for the Heat last year. Calgary kid that was never drafted, Flames signed him as a FA in 2012. Not sure about his contract status this year or if he is still Flames property. Or maybe you are talking about Neil Brady? I remember he scored the first goal in (modern day) Senators history but only ended up having a cup of coffee in the NHL all said.

I know my hockey. I live my hockey. I love my hockey. Those other sports aren't hockey so I don't pay any attention to them. At all.
So what happens if your watching Sportscenter? Do you just plug your ears and close your eyes while you wait for NHL news/highlights?

I don't wait for NHL news/highlights. I can change the channel and find them somewhere else or go on my computer and type in NHL.com

I certainly don't sit there and watch basketball highlights while waiting for hockey content if that's what you're asking.

some people are trying too hard to pretend they are super hard core hockey only fans. Others then piled on for good measure. Great.

the OP was just a bit of conjecture over a hot summer non hockey day. Give the guy a break. I think we can all understand his intent.

As for me if Gaudreau becomes super duper excellento, then goes on Sports at 11 and announces he is leaving i would strongly dislike him. I would also never want him back.

Pretty sure this is exactly what the rest of us have been doing.

I do find it surprising that you don't know who LeBron is, but I will say that since I cut my cable and get all my hockey highlights online my knowledge (and general interest) in other sports has crashed pretty significantly.

I'm not too familiar with the NBA, so I have no idea if Cleveland has ever won a championship. But for the skae of argument, let's say they haven't. If it was the hockey equivalent here in Calgary, I'd welcome the guy with open arms if he decided to come back to try to win us a championship. At the end of the day, it's the championship that really matters to me, not the personality of the athlete winning it.

Guy, you're not convincing anyone. Just stop talking. It is impossible to be a hardcore fan of one of the 4 major sports in NA, and not at least have an inkling as to who Lebron is. Even I, a guy who can't stand basketball, know who Lebron is.

And nobody would be bugging you about how stupid it is to claim to not know, if you hadn't wasted everyone's time with your post claiming not to know. Sometimes BS needs to be called. So if you don't want to hear about it, next time don't waste everyone's time with such a useless post to begin with. Any normal person who didn't know about something would have googled the name, realized that they don't care, and backed away from the thread. Not come in here and try to get attention by claiming not to know.

Nobody in the NHL will pull a Lebron because no hockey player is that much of a ######.

Unless you've been living under a rock since 2003 it's hard to believe that someone hasn't heard the name Lebron James at least once.

Agreed. I don't watch football, baseball, or basketball, and I still know guys like Peyton Manning, Derek Jeter, and Lebron James. It'd just be impossible to watch TSN without knowing who they were. Heck, I even know random curling guys or soccer players, and I wouldn't be caught dead watching those sports.

What are the chances of the Flames getting McDavid? And, what if the Flames have him drafted and signed - what's the likelyhood that the Flames will let him walk into FA unsigned before he's 35?

Hey, I live under a rock, and even I know who Lebron James is. There was a thing a couple of years ago about calling him 'King James'. I think he wrote the Bible or something.

Is he an athlete, too? Cool beans.

This.

Pretending to not know who Tiger and Brady are, and then get them "confused" with Tiger Williams and Brady Lamb, is hilarious. It's impossible to follow a top 4 North American league and not know at least a thing or two about major players from other sports.

I've watched about a combined 10 hours of baseball/basketball/football/golf/tennis/soccer/MMA (I haven't watched a single baseball or soccer game) combined and know who guys like Rodriguez, Wade, Romo, McIlroy, Nadal, Messi and Jones are

Which is extra funny in conjunction with this:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this was all kind of just ridiculous lol.
